I also think that Grandpa didn't read the note because in the beginning of the story it describes Grandma and Grandpa. But they never mentioned that Grandpa was a person that ignored others. I can Infer this because in Chapter 9 Grandpa Jack it states,"I used to know my grandparents very well when I was little and they lived close by." I can also infer this because in the text it also states,''That day and the one afternoon I fallowed Grandpa around and gave him plenty of chances to talk about it.'' Which this means he must have forgotten it or he didn't read it. In the book it does say that he couldn't take his mind off of Grandma so if he didn't read it then he would have talked about it.         To start of with, as a reader I think that Grandpa Jack DID read the note but he was trying not to show it.


I know this b/c the text says,
"Isn't there something you read lately that you might want to talk about?" I asked. Like a note I almost said.
"Just the news paper" he said."
This is my first piece of evidence to support my claim that Grandpa Jack DID read the note but was trying to ignore it

Secondly, another reason that I think that Grandpa Jack did DID read the note but he was trying not to show it is b/c the text says,
"I was learning something about grandpa.He is one of the world's best ignores."

Grandpa did not read peter's declaration of war, because he didn't act like an enemy, he acted like peter's BFF and seemed completely oblivious to the hole fact that a just few hours his grand son declarad war on him with a leter. I don't know how Grandpa some how didn't see the big fat declaration of war note on his bed but I know for a fact that he absolutely positively did not read it yet and this is how I know...
In the text it say's, "Well, it was a lot of fear and worry over nothing. Because Grandpa didn't say anything or do anthing about my note. Not the next day, anyway, or the day after that.". Yep, Grandpa is definitely oblivious to the war and if you still don't believe me than this definitely will, "That day and the one after I followed Grandpa around and gave him plenty of chances to talk to me when nobody else was around. I even sat through a whole afternoon with him while he watched those stupid soap operas on TV.". If that didn't convince you, I don't know what will.
