    1. Add 50 ml tap water to the beaker.
    2. Add 3 teaspoons of sugar to the beaker A.
    3. Add 50 ml of recently boiled water into beaker A and stir well (70 deg C to 80 deg C will suffice).
    4. Add a teaspoon of "fresh yeast" into the beaker, mix well and wait 2 minutes.
    5. Pour the contents of the beakers into a Erlenmeyer flask.
    6. Draw a line on a balloon (across the widest part of the balloon) and affix the mouth of the balloon to the neck of the Erlenmeyer (use an elastic band, if necessary).
    7. After 5 minutes, measure the circumference of the balloon by placing a ribbon/string along the line drawn on the balloon.
    8. Measure the length of the ribbon against a ruler to get an accurate measurement.
    9. Repeat the experiment using 1 teaspoon of sugar instead.
