Socrates was a great Greek philosopher, possibly the wisest sage of all time. He is famous for contributing to philosophy.
Socrates is known for the Socratic method, Socratic irony, and the pursuit of knowledge. Socrates is famous for saying that he knows nothing and that the unexamined life is not worth living. The Socratic method involves asking a series of questions until a contradiction emerges invalidating the initial assumption. Socratic irony is the position that the inquisitor takes that he knows nothing while leading the questioning.

In this poem, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam narrates how his childhood was spent in the warmth of his mother. He tells how his mother gave him pious strength even though she knew all his flaws as a child. He tells how she was the only one there for him when he woke up after a nightmare. She taught him how to face the world without fear, how her tenderly hands provided him the much needed comfort in the chaotic life.

It says if we know how to live daily life,it all becomes a liberating experience. Once we make that choice then our path through life becomes totally clear. To be happy we don't want to qualify everything. We have to accept what we had .If we decide that you're going to be happy from now on for the rest of our life ,we will not only be happy ,you will become enlightened. We just want to face all bravely .

Special quote from this :

LIFE IS A BEAUTIFUL PATH. BE HAPPY

This end is called as the top. The end opposite the top is known as the base. The base of the stack is significant since items stored in the stack that are closer to the base represent those that have been in the stack the longest. The ordering principle that follows in stack is sometimes called LIFO( last in first out) or FILO( first in last our). It provides an ordering based on length of time in the collection. Newer items are near the top, while older items are near the base.

Generally motivation comes from two sides one from internal and one from External side. So female politicians, businesswomen, executives, scientists, or any other positions that involve certain power, will always come with common forces opposing growth in their fields. At the end, it can all be traced back to the patriarchal values imbibed within society that deem women to be incapable of handling power and responsibility. Patriarchal values reinforced in societies will continuously refuse to believe that a woman can take charge of affairs and is capable of making decisions that are binding to everyone.

Joydeep Maji
Group - II

Mariya Biju, Group 2, Batch 8
</sub>
The road not taken is a famous poem by Robert Frost. It talks about his life's decision of taking a path different from others, the less trodden one, the one which others feared to take. Life becomes what you make of it. Frost says " I took the path less travelled by, and that has made all the difference", This poem tells us to not follow the crowd. Follow your passion. It takes a great deal of courage to take a different direction in life. But courage is not the absence of fear, rather it is doing it despite having fear. Life is lived only once, and the only way to live it is your way.

Group 2
History of the holy Dham puri

Puri’s famous Jagannath Temple holds a prominent place of importance for devotees. It is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites in India, and is also well-known for the annual chariot festival or Rath Yatra. If various legends are to be believed, King Indradyumn built this holy shrine after Lord Vishnu blessed and guided him in his dreams to find Nila Madhava. It is also believed that when the Pandavas started their journey to Yamraj, Sapt Rishis advised them to visit the ‘Char Dham’ to get closer to ‘moksha.’ And, Jagannath Temple in Puri is one of holy places of ‘Char Dham.’ Since then, Jagannath idol has always remained off-limits for people, and devotees can see him only for a particular period of time.Jagannath Temple in Puri is also known for some mysteries that defy any scientific explanation. The flag atop the temple strangely always floats in the opposite direction of wind. The flag floating in opposite direction brings your scientific reasoning to a halt, and you just tend to believe that there is some force more powerful than science. There are many other facts where you have to go beyond science .

AI requires a foundation of specialized hardware and software for writing and training machine learning algorithms.

On April 26, 1986, the world was shocked by a disaster. It wasn't a disaster like any other. The world had witnessed a new type of death. The Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in Ukraine in April 1986 was caused by a flawed Soviet reactor design combined with severe errors by the plant operator. It was a direct result of the Cold War's isolation and the resulting lack of a safe culture. The explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was without a doubt the most critical nuclear accident in history. It was an accident, and while innocent people had died or become ill from radiation sickness in the past, this incident turned out to be the most catastrophic involving radiation. The disaster at Chernobyl was a unique event and the only accident in the history of commercial nuclear power that resulted in radiation-related deaths. Former Soviet President believed that the Chernobyl incident was a more critical factor in the fall of the Soviet Union than its liberal reform program.

Reason behind this critical achievements of Delhi's people is because of excess use of firecrackers on Diwali in month of November, burning of crops in neighbouring states and factories that releases toxic pollutants like coal plants. Delhi government is working on minimising this by shutting down few coal factories like, in current scenario 5 of 11 coal factories are allowed to work.

What is Democracy ?
The word democracy comes from the Greek words "demos", meaning people, and "kratos" meaning power; so democracy can be thought of as "power of the people": a way of governing which depends on the will of the people.

There are so many different models of democratic government around the world that it is sometimes easier to understand the idea of democracy in terms of what it definitely is not. Democracy, then, is not autocracy or dictatorship, where one person rules; and it is not oligarchy, where a small segment of society rules. Properly understood, democracy should not even be "rule of the majority", if that means that minorities' interests are ignored completely. A democracy, at least in theory, is government on behalf of all the people, according to their "will"

True, Dudley was now so scared of Harry that he wouldn't stay in the same room as him, while Aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon didn't shut Harry in the cupboard, or shout at him or even talked to him. Half scared and half furious, they acted as though every chair with Harry in it was empty. Although this was a good improvement in many ways, it became depressing after a while. Harry kept to his room most of the time, with the company of his new owl. He had decided to call her Hedwig, a name he had read in his "History of magic" book. His school books were very interesting and he lay on his bed, reading his books late into night Hedwig swooping in and out of the window as she pleased. Aunt Petunia didn't come in to vacuum anymore more. Harry thought it was good as hedwig kept bring dead mice.

Mobile phones

The mobile phone can be used to communicate over long distances without wires. It works by communicating with a nearby base station (also called a "mobile tower") which connects it to the main phone network. When moving, if the mobile phone gets too far away from the cell it is connected to, that cell sends a message to another cell to tell the new cell to take over the call. This is called a "hand off," and the call continues with the new cell the phone is connected to. The hand-off is done so well and carefully that the user will usually never even know that the call was transferred to another cell.

As mobile phones became more popular, they began to cost less money, and more people could afford them.

Deep Water is about the writer’s journey of overcoming the fear of water, which is deeply rooted in him since childhood. The author started fearing water since the age of four. It starts when he was visiting California with his father. He visits a beach where a wave knocks him down and sweeps over him. This terrifies the author, although the father laughs at this knowing it was no danger. However, this experience terrifies him and develops a fear of water. After that, when the author is 11 years old, he experiences another incident which escalates his fear.

He is at a swimming pool in Yakima, trying to learn swimming. On one fine day, a bully decides to pull a dangerous prank. He pushes him in the deep end of the pool which frightens the author. He reaches nine feet into the water and starts struggling desperately to hold on to something.

Moreover, he yells for help but he starts feeling paralyzed and only his heart was moving now. Thus, he gives up and readies himself to die but wakes up at the side of the pool. However, the terror he experiences while drowning never goes away. It continues to haunt him for many years and even spoiled his future expeditions concerning canoeing, swimming, fishing and more.

He even visits Marine Lakes, Columbia, New Hampshire and more but is not able to enjoy it. Thus, he decides to overcome this fear by hook or by crook. He enrols himself in a swimming class and tries to learn from the instructor. The instructor teaches him many tips and tricks for swimming. He begins with the inhaling and exhaling part then he practices it for many weeks.

Further, he moves on to the kicking the legs on the side of the pool. Finally, he combines all this with the final move of swimming. Although the author knows how to swim, he is still terrified of water. Thus, in order to get rid of the fear, he decides to confront it. He mocks it by thinking what can it really do? Consequently, he plunges in to the water and to his surprise, his fear goes away. He faced it in many places and at last, manages to conquer it.

SOCIAL DISTANCING, probably this word was not introduced till 21st century. During the pandemic this thing was done to minimize the probability that an uninfected person will come in contact with infected one, in other word it acted like a barrier for pandemic. it usually involves keeping a certain distance from others and avoiding gathering together in large groups.

Most people find animals like dogs, cats and birds adorable and some keep them in their homes as pets. However, there are also people who abuse animals. They enjoy torturing helpless creatures to gain a sense of control over them. Their pleasure is increased since these animals very often cannot do anything to defend themselves. In order to reduce and ultimately prevent such cases of animal abuse, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or SPCA was set up. The organization not only aims to prevent cruelty to animals but also cares for unwanted animals that have been badly abused. So far, the SPCA has proven to be a haven for abused animals. The organization also has a number of trained people to nurse injured animals back to health.

The same is referred by a well known phase-"A stitch in time saves nine".The phrase holds a deeper meaning in our practical life. If we don't complete our work timely, it will demand more work, effort and time later.
If we face any problem or have any work today it must be completed by the day itself as the more problems may add up to it if we do that work some other day.
The phrase-Stitch in time saves nine emphasises on the importance of time. It tells us to avoid wastage of time as life is very short and so the time for us. Moreover,it helps in effective decision-making in our day to day life.
All in all what we must understand is that we should be consistent in our life avoiding procastination. This will keep us away from many unwanted problems and we can lead a happy life.

Development of villages was one of the major issue for India after independence. About 80% of population of India lives in villages. There were many attempts made to develop villages. Indian government is trying to provide basic needs to everyone living in villages. Houses are being built, education is bring provided for free, same is for electricity and other needs. Our country can develop only when villages will develop as our country is agriculture dominated and most of the people in villages are involved in agricultural practices.

Her hairs were silver in colour and were scattered messily on her wrinkled face. She used to walk around the whole house in white clothes. She kept her one hand resting on her waist and the other hand was telling the beads of her rosary.
During their lengthy stay in the village, Grandmother woke him up from the bed in the early morning, plastered his wooden slate, organized his breakfast, and sent him to the school.

On their way back to the home she used to give the stale chapattis to the street dogs. A turning point in their beautiful relationship arrived when they went to live in a city. Now, the writer used to go to the city school on a school bus and studied subjects like English, Physics, mathematics and many more subjects those his grandmother could not understand at all.

His grandmother could no longer go to school with him to send him. She felt upset that there was no teaching about God and scriptures at the city school. Instead, he was given music lessons, but she said nothing.

When the writer went to a university, he got a separate room in his house. The common link of the relationship between the grandson and the grandmother was broken now. Grandmother rarely talked to anyone in the house now. She spent plenty of her time sitting beside her spinning wheel and reciting prayers of god. She started feeding the sparrow birds in the afternoon.

When the writer left for abroad for his further studies, his grandmother did not get disturbed at all. Rather, she saw him off at the airport. Seeing her grandmother at this old age, the writer was thinking that it might be his last meeting with his grandmother. But when he came back home after a duration of 5 years, his grandmother was there to welcome him back and he saw her celebrate his return.

The next morning after the return of his grandson she got ill. Although the doctor told that it was a slight fever and would go away very soon, still she could foresee that her time to leave this world was near. She did not want to waste her time talking to someone.
To grieve her death, thousands of sparrows flew in and sat dispersed around her body. All the sparrows flew away without making any noise when the dead body of the old lady was carried away for the last rites.

It wasn’t made the ‘official’ Bell Labs language. Thus, without any advertisement, C’s reputation spread, and its pool of users grew. Ritchie seems to have been rather surprised that so many programmers preferred C to older languages like FORTRAN or PL/I, or the newer ones like Pascal and APL. But, that's what happened.
