The Second Amendment. 1.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This amendment was written in 1791. 228 years ago, this law was made over two centuries ago. In that same time, there was slavery. Discrimination against people of a different color. And women couldn't vote for the future leader of their country. If these things were changed to fit the politically correct country we live in today, then why can't one amendment be changed or modified? This amendment was written by the same people who participated in slavery, and believed that women were lesser then men. Multiple events and tragedies are enough evidence to change gun laws. But the government relies on their patriotic founding fathers rules rather then the ever changing future. If we can change the racist and sexist laws that were made, then why can't we change a dangerous amendment that allows anyone to carry and use a fire arm in the wrong way.

The difference. 2.

We understand how guns can be used to protect yourself and your family. But when fire arms land in the wrong hands, this can lead to dangerous situations that can cause tragedies. The difference between protecting yourself and using fire arms to harm people without defending yourself is a huge contrast. If the government disregarded the second amendment and listened to the terrible shootings that happen around America, they can find a way to make receiving guns difficult or banning guns in general. "I’m sure we’ve all heard the phrase “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” Technically, that is true. But when those guns get in the hands of people with mental-health issues, people who feel hopeless, or people who are numbed to violence for a vast number of reasons—our media included—we have a major problem. And we have tragedies here in the United States such as Columbine, Aurora, and Newton, among others." https://www.franciscanmedia.org/should-we-ban-guns/

Gun Laws around the world. 3

Around the world, gun control has became more and more strict. As the months and years pass by, the threat of a mass shooting is still terrifying. No matter how old of a topic it might become. If other countries are making laws to prevent one major shooting, why does it take america to have multiple shootings to make their government now concerned. For example, in Australia The Port Arthur massacre changed Australia's gun control legislation greatly. The massacre took place in 1996 when the gunmen opened fire on shop owners and tourists that led to 35 people dead and 23 wounded. This one mass shooting lead to the complete ban of guns throughout Australia. If this one terrible occurrence changed gun control in Australia forever, why does the United States have multiple mass shootings but does nothing about gun control legislation?

Testimonial(Emma González) 4

"Just three days after the massacre, González mustered remarkable resilience and courage when she transformed her anguish and heartbreak into unabashed activism. She delivered an impassioned speech at a gun control rally in Fort Lauderdale, calling “B.S.” on President Trump, other politicians and the NRA for not tightening gun laws that could prevent “the hundreds of senseless tragedies that have occurred.” Her speech was broadcast nationally, and her name began trending on Twitter that afternoon. She created the @Emma4Change handle to promote stricter gun laws, and along with other Parkland survivors she founded March for Our Lives, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization pushing for stricter gun laws and registering young voters" -https://variety.com/2018/politics/features/emma-gonzalez-parkland-interview-1202972485/.

What is being done. 5

When researching around the internet, we searched what is being done to prevent gun violence. Currently, we founds news reports and blogs that state, "What should be done." "Or what could be done." But currently, there is nothing being done to change or stricken gun laws in any way. This is a bad sign for the government. If the government is not listening to their own people who help change the future of America and provide their next leaders. Can they still be trusted? Millions of people believe that gun laws are perfect the way they are. But when multiple mass shootings take place that kill so many people, why is nothing being changed to protect us?

Conclusion. 6

Yes, currently we are under aged minors. And yes, currently we have no say in the laws that effect us everyday. But we are the future of America. We will grow up to be able to vote for the leaders of our towns, states, and overall government. If we can use that power of our voices, then let us be heard! We can change the future right now! We can save so many victims of future mass shootings if we take a stand. We can prevent the sorrow of so many families around the country if we can stand up and fight gun violence. If we could change gun control to make laws strict or ban guns once and for all, this would be a much safer country. Only if we can fight for the change of gun laws, we can prevent so many deaths, and heartbroken families. Forever
