Ask for help and take it because having a little one is a lot. When you become frustrated, do not feel bad taking a break - put baby in the crib and take a few minutes to yourself! Get in all of the snuggles and smooches you can!! Finally, take lots of pictures and videos! Enjoy every second because it truly does go by so fast!

If you lead with love, kindness, patience and understanding...
everything else with fall in place. I know you will do the best you can, and I hope you know that it will be enough. Even when it doesn't feel like you know what you're doing, it's ok because he won't know any better! While you have no idea just how much your lives are about to change, I know you both will work together to make it as amazing as possible!!

Always trust your gut, take naps ANYTIME you are able- get as much sleep as you can, help each other and take care of each other always, don't be afraid to ask for help, hold Baby Smith a lot and take lots of pictures! Kids grow up too quickly! Enjoy each and every moment!!!!

Lean on your partner to help you through things, and ask for help often!

So many people are willing to help, even if it just means coming over to sit with the baby while everyone else naps :) Take up everyone on their offers to clean, cook, and care for you - it is so helpful, and affords you time to heal and soak up the newborn baby memories. That time lasts only a little while so enjoy it <3

They're never trying to hurt you/make you crazy even when they're stepping on your throat at 2 am or coloring on the cat. It goes SO fast. Try to enjoy the moments, even when they're hard. You'll fall in love harder with your baby than you ever thought possible. Try to tune out the advice that doesn't work for you... you will get LOTS when your baby is small. No one knows exactly what they are doing because every baby is different. Do what works
