My name is Gina Rasmussen. I have been teaching Art at a charter school for more than 5 years now. I enjoy my work very much. I an effort to make additional options available to me, I am perusing an official teaching certificate.

I enjoy spending time with my family and adventuring. I love to watercolor and draw.

I have been drawing since I was in high school. It relaxes me and I love to make something exist that did not exist before. Creativity is a wonderful, if sometimes frustrating way to express our feelings.

My choice to become a K-6 Art Teacher has been a wonderful journey. I have been able to share my passion for art with hundreds of students. It has been wonderful to watch students who I taught since Kindergarten grow into confident artists.

My career as an Art Teacher has been very fulfilling. I particularly enjoy when I can incorporate students homeroom lessons with my own.

For example, 4th grade has recently learned about Native Americans in their history lessons, so we made a Petroglyph Wall in the hallway.

This enforces what they have learned, and at the same time, it creates a delightful art instillation for the rest of the school to enjoy.

I am looking forward to taking EDU 276 because I want to be exposed to different management styles and ideas for how a classroom can be run.
