I worked at the World Famous Jungle Cruise. It was a dream come true for me. I was able to meet and work with people from all over the world. I learned how to go above and beyond at my job and put others before myself. I was thrown into the classroom in the middle of the school year, because I took the place of a teacher that was fired. I was overwhelmed and every felt like I was just trying to stay above water. The last day of school I had a student write me a note about how I impacted his life more than I could ever know. He had lost his mom to cancer that semester, but told no one. He told me that I was the best part of his day and kept him encouraged each day. That note reminded me that at the end of the day the curriculum is is not the most important, how I make the students feel is.
