• This week in ESL we completed our unit 2 test. We also covered these learning objectives:
  - Listening: Understand, with support, most specific information and detail of short and extended talk.
  - Reading: Understand, with support, most specific information and detail in short and extended texts.
  - Use of English: Use a range of present simple active forms and begin to use passive forms.

• Next week in ESL we will cover the following learning objectives:
  - Use of English: Use an increasing range of defining relative clauses (e.g. with whose and whom) and begin to use non-defining relative clauses.
  - Speaking: Describe people, places and objects, and routine past and present actions and events. Begin to produce and maintain tretches of language comprehensibly, allowing for hesitation and reformulation, especially in longer stretches of free production.
  - Listening: Understand, with support, most of the detail of an argument in short and extended talk.

2. MATHS

• This week in maths we worked of the following learning objective:
  Identify, describe, classify and sketch quadrilaterals, including reference to angles, symmetrical properties, parallel sides and diagonals.

• Due to disruption due to the storm we need to spend more time on the learning objective:
  Identify, describe, classify and sketch quadrilaterals, including reference to angles, symmetrical properties, parallel sides and diagonals.
  We will also:
  Know the parts of a circle: centre, radius, diameter, circumference.
  Construct circles of a specified radius or diameter.

3. SCIENCE

• This week we covered the Properties of a materials- Reversible and Irreversible Changes and the properties of solutions, solutes and solvents. and began 2.3 Chemical reactions and changes

• Next week we will continue with Chemical reactions and prepare for the Unit 2 Test.

4. GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE

• This week, the class continued learning about values. They discussed the question, “How important is education to you?”, wrote down their initial personal responses, and also created their own personal values chart.

• Next week, students will explore the difference between wants and needs by discussing examples from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. They will identify key articles about the right to education and reflect on why learning is important for every child. To extend their understanding, students will also learn about the role of UNICEF in protecting children’s rights around the world.
