Pt 2 : The greasers does not perform well in school and many are school dropouts, they hang around places everyday and have no ambitions in life so they appear to be dangerous hooligans to other people.

Shows that the Greasers needed to be tough to defend themselves or to attack back in case the Socs jumped them.
Quote: "He was famous for shoplifting and his black-handled switchblade (which he couldn't have acquired without his first talent),  and he was always smarting off to the cops."
Tells us that the Greasers already have a reputation of shoplifting / theft and they carry weapons around which makes them more of a threat, making people (the Socs) dislike the greasers further.
"He liked fights"
Also shows that it is easier for some of them to get into more trouble as they enjoyed fights which many people do not. The majority of the people that do not like fights, judge the minority and therefore discriminate them.

This explains that the Greasers live in the fear of getting jumped by the Socs everywhere they go. The Greasers would be hopelessly outmatched if they ever tried to fight all the Socs. The Greasers would only have to rely on their strength, friendship and brotherhood to defend themselves against the Socs.

Dallas Winston, littered his cigarette butt after saying “Speaking of movies” and yawning, which makes us think that they are very gangster like and don’t bother about biding by the rules.

This tells us that the socials belittle the greasers, thinks that they do not deserve to be treated pleasantly .They have no respect for them even though they are humans too , this also tells us that the socials dislike and is annoyed by the greasers' presence .

This shows socials have the concept that greasers are empty-headed , it is not a norm for them to ace their subjects and get high grades  .This also tells us that greasers are doing unwell for their exams , many of them could have failed or are school dropouts .Hence the would like to associate with them lesser as they are unintelligent , causing them to be belittled  and discriminated.

This tells us that the greasers are too focused on getting by , paying bills .Letting themselves to not achieve higher accomplishment of education which will result to not landing on high paying jobs .Then , they will not earn large amount of money and are just purely getting by . They will be unable to be successful.This is also another factor that will cause the greasers to be discriminated .

This gives the impression that most Greasers smoke. Smoking is harmful in many ways, for example - it harms one’s health and it is addictive.Yet, no Greaser stop one another from smoking as its normal for them to do so, despite them being underage and illegal for them.Hence, Greasers are deemed as a bad influence gangsters, Street thugs, rebels.

‘I was in jail’

This shows that a Greaser being Dally committed a crime and did something illegal which caused him to land in jail.This gives a bad impression on the Greasers as one may think that a Greaser is a dangerous and unlawful criminal, However not all Greasers are like that.
