Theory of Behaviorism

B.F Skinner said" consequences of an act affect the probability of it happening again".
This theory has its benefits but is controversial. While using it for the management of the students in the class it has more emphasis on the teacher,
as teacher would be doing operant conditioning to the student by giving positive & negative rewards, giving constant feed backs and testing specific skills of the student. In the result student will develop a behavior through learning.
Through positive and negative reinforcements and punishments, learner will be able to make connection with the consequences associated with his or her behavior. In my education practice I clearly state my objectives and expectations. Now with deep understanding of behaviorism I think I use this by giving stimulus to students in the form of lesson plans,quizzes/tests and then use positive reinforcement by giving extra marks, encouraging them in front of the dean and whole class and negative reinforcement by cutting their marks and giving poor feedback in front of whole class plus dean and complain to parents sometimes. In addition I give punishment if student has not completed the assignment ,I donot let them go n enjoy other activities and donot mark the attendance of a day or two.
In this way students begin to give the predicted response. This means they develop behavior according to the consequences.
