I think that the learner was wrongmos in this case.You know what's so weird and ironic in most of these cases is the fact that we only see a piece of what actually happened in that class that day.Social media has taken our lives and we as humans sometimes assume the worst.The learner was clearly very disrespectful and unruly behaviour. I feel that the situation was dealt with from both parties, in the wrong way. The tone of voice used by both the teacher and learner was that of a violent nature, also, yes the learner was disrespectful and the teacher reacted on impulse which is human. 
All the comments made was valid.

The student provoked the teacher to the that point. However, the teacher should not have reacted in that manner. Teacher are trained professionals and should know how to respond to cetain situations. I believe that of the teacher felt that she was about to explode in that way, she should have walked away. 

I also believe that student have to much rights compared to teachers and thus they feel comfortable enough to act like this within the classroom. Teachers need to be given more support within the classrooms to help them deal with situations like this.

When i first saw the short version of the video, I was shock to think how could a teacher slap the child so hard. Yes I believe that a child should be disciplined/reprimanded for doing something wrong but as a teacher you shouldn't have gone that hard. But after watching the whole video and getting the background story, I understood why she did it. It can be very frustrating to teach a stubborn, unruly and disrespectful learner. But she could have handled the situation much better. I just think that things have escalated in this day an age. I still remember getting one of those good whippings from your teacher when your homework wasn't complete. This was back in the day when people weren't sensitive to corporal punishment, but now these 21st century parents take this as abuse.
