The beginning VS The end

At the beginning of the school year i felt very excited to meet new people and just in general get a new start. There weren't much changes which was easy to adapt to and many people joined our school so it felt nice to talk to them and meet more people along the school year. This feeling didn't really last long because we started getting homework assignment, which i didn't mind but there was one point where it did get stressful keeping up. I think the "i hate school" attitude kicked in like around the middle of the school year and slowly got worst because i remember not wanting to wake up specially because i didn't want to go to school. Recently we had testing and the practice material for those test were the end of me, like i was miserable during testing.

The fun project

One project/assignment i did at school that im really proud of was this project for speech. The purpose of the project was to make an advertisement for a specific item. Our class got to do this project in groups so i partnered up with my friend Katherine and Valeria. We made an advertisement about a "seatbelt" using durags and the experience was super fun. The making video ended up being a mess but we met the criteria of the project and also made it in a way other can laugh.

Impactful book

An impactful book i read in the beginning of this year was called "wonder" by R.J palacio. I read this book after watching the movie. It was very heartwarming and relatable in some ways. This book made an impact on me because it shows how words and action can affect others. It also made me realize that being considerate about others can taje a big role. For example, Many of choose to be kind but a good portion of us like to have and input or judge someone based on how they look and dress which isn't right because you never know what anyone is going through.

My challenges

A personal and academic challenge was learning how to manage my time. Usually i depend on my mom for my schedule but this year it was rough because she went on a lot of work trips. I dislike going to school and even doing the slight bit of homework but if getting good grades makes my parents proud then i guess it's whatever. Personally it's just not very entertaining to me and most of the time many of the assignment don't interest me and it does take me time to learn something. I also love playing volleyball and my parents see that im in my element when playing this sport so they put me in every practice possible so time is not really a thing for me, which i appreciate because it keeps me busy and i don't have to think about certain things. Its just hard because with the little time i have i NEED to do my homework in order to pass the class and im still learning how to manage my time but it definitely has gotten better.

Inspirational poem

This poem was showed to me by my mom. I wanted to quit everything so she made me read and watch literally a lot of inspirational crap about determination. This poem talks about how life itself is hard work and we need to appreciate what we do. It says that you can relax when you overcame that achievement of hard work and you can be proud when the goal is achieved. when i read this i was obviously not in a very confident place but after i read this it made me understand why i felt like a faliure and it was simply beacuse my work wasn't done and there was yet nothing to be proud of.

My hopes for junior year

For my junior year i have many hopes to accomplish. i wanna do things i never did before and learn how to get out of my comfort zone. I feel as if i am stuck doing the same thing every year and it honestly seems tiring because there's nothing exciting. Im also very excited in hoping to accomplish my really big goal by the end of junior year or the summer of junior year because its what i've been waiting for forever. Im very determined to do many things in junior year and i believe i can by putting in hard work. This quote "Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard" inspires my mindset right now. I want to show everyone how hard i work for the things i deserve and want.
