I picked don’t judge a boy by its face. I chose this one because i thought it match the book and it is out of don’t judge a book by its cover. Through out the chapters it shows a lot how the look of your face does not change the fact that your a nice person, like when join started bullying August he never got to know the true and kind hearted boy he was. So that’s why i chose (don’t judge a boy by its face).

I chose this precept because it points out something very important in life that will always be needed to succeed. Another reason why I chose this precept was because it also informs people that life isn’t always fair and that you just have to accept it and try to change the way you do things to get what you way.
This precept to me means you can’t change the way something works just so you can get your way, but you can change the strategies you are using to get what you wish for.

My precept was, “However difficult life may seem there is always something you can do, and succeed at.” - Stephen Hawking.

I chose this precept because it has a good moral for everyone. To me, it means that when something difficult happens to you, don’t just give up. You have to keep working hard to get to the place you want to be. This is a good message for everyone to remember whenever set a difficult task or challenge.

I chose this precept because it’s a way of saying even if something you did made someone else think it was wrong, it may have been something truly amazing to everyone else but that person. I also chose this precept because it’s just like how when you have to paint something that is exactly the same as everyone else’s and the teacher. Your mind is a whole world of imagination and sometimes you get sick of doing the same thing so you try something new. But trying something completely different to everybody else doesn’t mean that you're doing the wrong thing, it just means that you are different in a good way. It means that you have an interesting imagination.

To me, this precept means that doing something adventurous or mischievous can also be something that is unbelievable. An example could be something like climbing Mount. Everest and reaching the top. Climbing Mount Everest is something really crazy and requires a lot of preparing and reaching the top of the freezing cold Mount Everest is a big achievement and climbing to the top is also outrageous and unbelievable.

My precept was,

I chose this precept because it shows us that creating yourself is like making your own personality or creating your own face etc. For example: say a girl has really rough dry skin on her face. She can use a moisturiser cream to make it look smooth and nice. On the other hand finding yourself is a totally different thing. To find yourself you will try to find things that suit your personality etc.

I think my precept relates to wonder in a way, when August decides he likes going to school. August creates himself by going to school and makes his personality by being with other people to experience it. August also kind of creates his face. Not in the way that he changes it, but its the way where he knows that people who are used to him like his face and he knows how they react to it.

My precept means that people have to have patience, to be independent, not to rely on other people, and to not be lazy.

I chose this precept because it means that the world views you as someone insignificant. On the other hand, the one person who views you as their world, they care about you. This means that even in you darkest times, someone will be there to support you.

For some it is easy to identify who this person is, they are the one who always looks after you, but for others, this person can be hard to find. For August, it was easy for him, as he had a loving family surrounding him, but for someone like Miranda, it was hard to find her one person as she had a broken family, but when she met August, her face was always happy.

This is why I chose the precept, ”To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.

I chose the precept “I don’t believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you thought you could be.” – Ken Venturi. Also, you might have very high expectations of yourself but others don’t and the people who do will try to be better than everyone else which personally, isn’t the best thing to do because it might take your whole life because there are also new people coming. The solution to this to set an expectation of being better than you thought you could be which is easier to achieve rather than to be better then everyone else. This relates to me because I know I am not better than everybody else but I definitely feel like I am better than myself.

This precept shows me to make every day better than the last. Also to live in the moment and if not than still do something that makes you happy in any way. For example Cookie Monster love eating cookies and even though he can not live in the moment he still wants to make the best of his day.

I chose this precept because some people are really shy with the way they live their lives, and they soon regret it as they grow old and wished they had done this and that when they were young. If your to shy no one will be able to see your light and that’s what everyone will remember you bye the person who wasn’t afraid to live their life. The person who took what ever chance they got to stand out and used it, used it wisely, to be the best version of themselves as they could be. So if I were to get the chance to be a better person I would take it, and if someone took it away from me I would fight for it.

I chose this precept because I believe that it means that strong people should do good, help people to grow, instead of pulling them down and leaving them there. Strong people will motivate and inspire others around them.

I think this is a good quote to live by as this is the person I aspire to be. I think we all sometimes forget to help and be kind to others.

My precept was “Don’t worry about failure worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try” - Jack Canfield. I chose this precept because it’s telling you to just take the risk and it doesn’t matter if you fail it matters that you tried your best and it’s lucky your got a chance. If you don’t want to do something you should always try because you don’t know you might succeed. The precept also tells you that all the chances you got to go and compete or go somewhere or even to do something you missed all the chances and that it okay to fail.

I chose this precept because it tells you to be strong because it might change you and the attitude you put on facing a challenge, and don't be scared about the challenges you go threw just face them with a positive attitude. Also it makes you believe that you are the strongest person you can be just do things yourself and be independent.To me it is at the back of my mind every day I can do this I just need to be independent and be strong no matter the challenges you just overcome it and stay the strongest person you can be.

I chose this precept because it tells you that even if your days are bad or are a tragic day always remember to were a smile on your face no matter what.
Also being the person who can smile makes people smile too. I also chose this because I think that everyone smiles throughout their entire life.

To me this means that your smile should never wear off. To me it mean to succeed through your life, there are going to be challenges that are hard but with some happiness and a smile you will get through it. This also relates to me as being (the person) and making people happy by smiling.

I chose this precept because it teaches people a big thing, especially the people who complain about things that are “difficult”, for example, maths, projects, playing an instrument, doing a sport, etc. Most people say “I’m never going to get this” or “I’m so bad”, but if you practise, try, persist and even get someone to help you, you will understand and it will seem easy and you’ll maybe even regret about that topic being “difficult!” Everyone in the universe goes through something difficult. This precept has also taught me something, all things are always difficult before they are easy.

I chose this precept because the meaning is very positive. It’s when Abraham did something good, he feels good about what he has done. But when he does something bad, he feels bad about what he did.

What this means to me is that it if you did something good or bad, you still feel the same sort of thing you did. You either feel good or bad. But everyone goes through the same this. They feel the same way. They feel good or bad. What I’m staying to say is that if you feel good or bad about something, that’s doesn’t mean that ONLY you are going through it. Everyone else is/has gone through it.

The precept I chose was:
Accept what you can’t change.

I chose this precept because it made me think of Neil Daniher. A few years ago Neil Daniher was diagnosed with a disease called MND. He now can’t change that so he has decided to make the good out of it and accept what has happened. He has started the cause fight MND. He has accepted what has happened and is doing what ever he can to help other people not need to go through the same as what he went through. They doctors said he would only be alive for a year but he just kept going.

He is an inspiration to me and I feel that this precept Accept what you can’t change really shows that you just need to move forward and make things happen like he did.

I chose this precept because it tells people who think they look different that if you are different it means that you are unique and that you are one of a kind. I mean if we were all the same that wouldn’t be good because there would be nothing special about us.

I think that Auggie needs to embrace who he is because I don’t think he knows that he is irreplaceable and that he is not like everyone else he is different and that is what make s him so special.

This precept shows me that it doesn’t matter if your different it just matters if you are you.

This precept also reminds me of one of the big quotes in wonder-
‘’ If you don’t blend in it means you were born to stand out’’
I really love that quote because it just makes you not care that people are different only that they are special.

So I chose this precept because it is lovely and can inspire people to love who they are because it is what is on the inside that matters not what is on the outside.

I choose this because to me it means to never give up and to always try your best. It also means that you should wake up with joy in your heart and continue with that attitude.

If anyone lets you down just push them away and keep that smile up and keep having an amazing day as always.

I also believe this because if someone puts you down just go with the flow but remember to make the best out of everything.

Mr Browne make this precepts because he wanted to make sure the kids enjoy their days so every precept Mr Browne gives his students, they always mean something!

My precept was “Kind words don’t cost much. Yet they accomplish much.” -Blaise Pascal

I chose this precept because it tells you that kind words do not cost much but they can make someone feel good and like they are special. It makes people just relaxed and think that if they are in a bad situation that they can fix. Kind words are things that mean a lot to people, they help people when they are stressed or made a bad decision that they can’t fix kind words will always be their for them. Kind word accomplish so much to many people so will be one of the people that give kind words?

My precept I chose was: You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice- Bob Marley

I had chosen this precept because for most things in life you can actually choose from two or more options. You can choose your clothes, your shoes, your hairstyle and many other things but this precept is saying that you got to do it if it was your one and only choice. Being strong is your choice and you can choose where and when you want to be strong but sometimes you have to face it. You have to face the truth that in some cases you will get only one choice and that would have to be your decision.

This precept to me means that you can be strong even if you don’t know you can be that strong. Your strength should be your advantage and you don’t want to waste it. It would be there with you your entire life even if you think you don’t have much strength. Everyone is strong in their own unique way. Ever since I saw this precept on the internet: You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice, the precept had me thinking about it for a while.

“Life isn’t about finding you, it’s about you finding life.”

I chose this precept because it tells me that the people who wait for life to come, won’t get it. While the people who look for life, will get life. The people who don’t look for life will find that every day would be bland and boring while the people who look for life will get to experience life the way its supposed to be experienced.

If you never looked for life and never found it, your life would feel bland and meaningless, every moment, every minute, every hour, every day, you would be wondering if your life had a meaning.

If you did look for life and sucessfully found it, you would never think you were meaningless and your mind would be full of positive thoughts. Every day would have its own meaning.

This precept means to me that you need to go and explore the world to find the secret of life which is what makes great happiness.
