Involved are Neo-nazi groups, the KKK, and on the other end, counter-protesters. Nazi sympathizers carry guns and other harmful weapons, and when the two sides clash, they fight with fists, water bottles, and pepper spray. The violence escalates though when a Nazi supporter plows into the counter protesters, killing one and injuring 19 others. How can this violence be eliminated, and what should the consequences be for those who cross the line during these situations? Is it mainly the white supremacists and those in favor of keeping the monuments up that start the violence?

We see resistance against confederate monuments being taken down, but why do you think there has not been any resistance to keeping Union monuments up? Or are there not enough of them to make as large of an impact as the confederate ones have?
