         <description><![CDATA[<div>The antiquities act was an act that got passed by the U.S. congress in 1906, and got signed into law by Theodore Roosevelt on June 8th, 1906. It was aiming to give the federal government an expeditious path to protect archeological states. Although, it no longer serves a purpose. It was an important achievement, and must have been very successful, the effects are still felt today.
