Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 appears to have Adam Levine as the speaker. There was no true occasion, but he explains how he is deeply in love with jane, who was his girlfriend at the time. The audience is Jane, or the woman that he continuously loves. His purpose for creating the song is to show how much he cares about this woman . She stayed next to him, and she's all he needs through tough and easy times. The subject, according to the lyrics, is continued love for a woman and how he will always want another chance with her.

Maroon 5 uses logos, pathos, and ethos throughout the lyrics and video of "Sunday Morning" to tell the woman that Adam Levine loves that he will always love her and he wants another chance. They use these appeals through metaphors, similes, and logic. The lyrics are more effective for getting the message across than the music video.

My first lyric example is "and I never want to leave." This lyric helps build his credibility because he's been dating the same woman, Jane, for a while and he wants to be with her forever. Another ETHOS example from the lyrics is "clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable." This lyric explains how you never forget the memories that you made with the ones you love. My last example from the lyrics is "you twist to fit the mold that I am in, but things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do." These lines show how quickly a good thing can go south and get ruined. One minute you could feel like they were made for you, and the next minute you're splitting up.

My first lyric example is "in darkness, she is all I see." This lyric explains how when he's in a dark place, she is what he thinks about to get back to the light. My second lyric example is "and I never want to leave." This lyrics shows how deeply in love and happy he is in his current relationship. My last lyric example is "and I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew that someday it would lead me back to you." This lyric explains that even though they had to separate, he still would gladly get back together with her. He would drop everything and go if it meant that he even had the slightest chance of getting back together with her.

My first example is "Sunday morning, rain is falling. Steal some covers, share some skin." This is an example of Maroon 5 using imagery to show people laying in bed on a rainy day. It shows how calm things are and gives off a hint of happiness. My next example is "you twist to fit the mold that I am in." This is a metaphor showing how he thinks that they fit together perfectly and that they're made for each other. My last lyric example is "back and forth we sway like branches in the storm change the weather, still together when it ends." This lyric is a simile that explains how they stay together even through the rough parts of a relationship.
