The ornamental fish that has been selected is the Carassius auratus. Carassius auratus also known as Fantail goldfish. The body of the Fantail goldfish is egg -like and round. And its variety is easily characterized by its split tail fins. These fish may have either metallic or nacreous scales, and normal or telescopic eyes. Although the telescope eye does not develop until the fish is 6 months old. These fish fins are less developed than Ryukin. They have two anal fins and a tail. Their tail fins and anal fins are well divided. The average body length of a mature fish is about 8 inches.
