As Chapter President I tried to sit with different attendees and followed up with new faces after each event. I kept a tracking spreadsheet to see who attended the most events which I discussed with our CEC. At our final event, I approached those people and told them I recognized and appreciated their participation and told them I would love to have them on the CEC if they would be interested. I then followed up a few weeks later.

We also discussed as a CEC who had been interested in the past and who may be a good fit for each position.

My chapter creates a list of ideas/agendas and share it with each other to develop our succession plans along with changing roles. So far this has been successful and has allowed our chapter to evolve. We network with our fellow coworkers and share what our chapter is about.

Everyone within the CEC is willing and open to share their experience, tips, and tricks for the positions that they have held to help "shepherd" that person into their role. They are generally intentional on ensuring that the incoming person is aware of the experience is present and that they are available to any questions that they may have.

Shadowing/Utilizing seasoned veterans

When time is available, trying to shadow the veteran board leaders on various task. Its slow going, for our chapter as we still rebuild from the pandemic lows. Our veteran leaders have been those resources that are crucial to our sustainability. I think trying to reach out to those past leaders can be a very useful resource
