This was a good part of the book to show Eddie's character. This is because Eddie was known as someone who doesn't talk much and doesn't like teenagers. This passage, it is showing the death of Eddie. He barely knew the little girl. All he did for her was make a balloon animal. Even though he wasn't close with the little girl he still risked his life to save the little girl. This was showing the kindness that was being shown in him. This had to be scary for the little girl and Eddie but he risked his life for someone he barely knew.

This part of the book was very important to Eddie because it talked about the beach, Eddie grew up by the beach and got a job at the pier. When he passed away and went to heaven the author described it as the pier that he worked on. This was the first person he would go to which was a nice introduction into heaven. Also saying how Eddie didn't feel any pain or worry just happy because he has nothing to worry about.

In this part of the book, Eddie is in heaven and the scene is set at the pier that he works at. He meets a blue ma who lives and works on the pier. As Eddie is talking to the blue man he says, "This is not your heaven it's mine" This was confusing to me because at first I thought that Eddie was there because that was where he died and where he spent most of his time. Since this was the blue man's heaven that made me think that Eddie would be going to all different places throughout the book. This was important to think about so I know that Eddie might not be staying in one scenery for the rest of the book while meeting the five people in heaven.

This was a lovely part of the story. This is because Eddie was never really close with any male figure. When he was feeling upset on his birthday his mother was able to notice him and boost his mood. This was very wholesome because it showed how much love he and his mother had for each other. This was important to know about Eddie because of his different relationships with people. With his dad, he was never very comfortable with him or any male figure, but with his mom, he was more open and happy with her.

This part of the book was important because it shows how Eddies body language and the tone in the book changes from going to the Pier to the army. When Eddie was at the pier with the first person he met, blue man, He felt happy. Eddie could run, dance, smile, and act like a kid. Once it changed and Eddie was not in the war area he ran different and acted different. This part of heaven was not the happy bubbly one he was at before. The war zone was more serious and scary to Eddie than the Pier where he grew up and lived most of his life.

I took a book snap of this part of the book because it showed some of the strategies that Eddie used to fight the "Crazies" as they were called. Also goes back into how Eddie knew how to Juggle also how that helped him in the long run. This was a memory from when Eddie was in the war. This is important because it shows one of the conflicts that he dealt with and how he dealt with it.

This part of the book was important because it showed the lesson being taught. In this part of the book the captain is talking to Eddie about sacrificing and how some things might seem like the worst thing but at the same time something is gained from it. The captain shot Eddie leg because his goal was to not leave any man behind. Even though the captain died, he still achieved his goal. He tried explaining this to Eddie by showing him he still got something out of his death. This was important because Eddie was mad that he didn't have his leg, but he got to live and still function because his captain saved him.

From this passage of the book it was when Eddie and the captains time were coming to and end, but Eddie was curious if the little girl made it from Eddies death. Eddie asked the blue man if he knew but the blue man didn't tell him. Now the captain is also not telling Eddie because he can't. This is important to the book because it shows how even though Eddie has passed he is still concerned that the little girl didn't make it. It can also relate to how his goal was to save the little girl and sacrifice himself for her, just like the captain had to do for there to be no man left behind.

This part of the book was important because it shows Eddie and his dad. Even though Eddie and his dad didn't actually talk in this part of the book it is still important. Eddie was meeting his third person in heaven and was now at the diner and saw his father sitting there. Him and his father have not talked for many years, but when Eddie saw him at the diner it put him into shock and was confused why he was seeing his father there.

From this, Eddie's birthday message talks about when Eddie was in the hospital after what happened to his leg. His family members come over and comfort him while celebrating his birthday. The only person who doesn't go is Eddie's father. This was important because it shows how Eddie and his father's relationship was. Eddie barely had a father figure there for him to help him through life. After Eddie hurt his leg his dad wasn't proud of him because now he was weak. He didn't care that his son needed to recover from his incident his father saw him as being weak. This made Eddie and the father's relationship worse.

This part of the book starts at the top of the page talking about parents. Parents tend to mess up children due to how their parenting skills are at home. Many families have different problems. Some can be more severe than others. I liked this saying by saying kids can be shattered, dented, or cracked by how it is with their parents. This is a strong quote that can go for people throughout the world and in the book for Eddie and his dad. Eddie's father was never a good father to the family. This left a big shatter in Eddie's mental health due to what Eddie's father has done to him.

At the end of the chapter, Eddie learns his lesson and what really happened to his dad. His father wasn't a good man to his family but he was a good friend. He saved his friend and ended his own life doing it. His friend wasn't a good friend to Eddie's father but his father saved him anyway. After hearing this information Eddie was feeling guilty towards his father. This is important because from the beginning of the book till now we have seen how Eddie hates his father deeply, but once he learns his lesson he tries to loosen up and forgive his father and work things out. It was very important that he said "It's fixed" when he was talking to him because Eddie used to work with his father. When he worked with his father he would hand Eddie things and tell him to fix it. Eddie would then come back every time and say, "It's fixed". When Eddie said it was fixed to his father after sharing his feelings Eddie was telling him that he and his father's relationship was fixed and didn't have to worry.
