If a builder builds a house for a man and does not make its construction sound, and a wall cracks, that builder shall strengthen that wall at his own expense.

This law would work today because if the builder does a bad job building something, they kind of deserved to be punished in some way for potentially doing something to harm people.

If a man has committed incest with his daughter, that man shall be banished from the city.

They just throw him to another village to do it all over again

If a man has struck a free woman with child, and has caused her to miscarry, he shall pay ten shekels for her miscarriage

210. If that woman die, his daughter shall be killed

Obviously striking a women and causing a miscarriage is really really bad, but his daughter who wasn't even involved is getting her life ended over something her dumb dad did.

If a man has ravished another's betrothed wife, who is a virgin, while still living in her father's house, and has been caught in the act, that man shall be put to death; the woman shall go free.

It gives women justice for what man have done to them

195-210 Outrageous Laws:

195: If a son strikes his father, they shall cut off his hand.

It is outrageous, because what if you are striking out of self defense, It makes no sense to get your hands cut off for defending yourself.

210. If that woman die, his daughter shall be killed.

It is outrageous because if a woman were to already be gone then why would her daughter have to pass as well.

This picture relates to Hammurabi's code because almost every rule was a long the lines of if something bad happens to one person caused by another person, then that person shall receive similar treatment in return.
