The history of the Flag of Ecuador dates back to September 26, 1860, Gabriel García Moreno, then supreme head of the Republic of Ecuador, established, by executive decree, that the National Flag would be composed of the colors yellow, blue and red.

On November 7, 1900, to reaffirm the decision and establish September 26 as Flag Day, the National Congress provided, through Legislative Decree, that "the National flag will be without any alteration the one adopted by Ecuador since it proclaimed its independence.

The meaning of our Flag is fully identified with our natural, cultural and civic wealth, as determined by its colors: yellow, which is twice as large as blue or red, represents the wealth of our soil; blue represents the ocean, the clear and clean Ecuadorian sky; and red honors the blood that our heroes shed to give us freedom

Joseph Ipiales

It was one of the biggest, most important, impressive and spectacular festivities that the Tahuantisuyo empire carried out, in which tribute was paid to the sun.

The "God" to whom tribute was paid was: "Apu Inti" (Sun God) or "Apu P'unchau" (Day God). This tradition was maintained even after colonization and the Incas continued to celebrate it behind the scenes of the Spanish. Even in the tradition, parties are held that pay tribute to the sun.
The subjects of the Inca continued to celebrate the festival hidden from the Spanish authorities, and a mestizo named Garcilaso de la Vega compiled, in his famous Royal Comments, descriptions of this unique and incomparable festival.Ariel Vilañez 10 mo A
