ECS 460 02 Participating in Reflective Dialogue by Annie White

Consider this as you look at the photo. What do you think might be the toddlers' thinking within such play? Play around with this and see if you can name what it is that they might be wondering about or trying to figure out. Post what you might offer the group of toddlers, so that they might continue to go deeper in exploring their ideas. I want to hear you begin to formulate some possible planning questions that you might use to plan the "next steps" in the curriculum. The planning question frames the experience as an open-ended investigation, i.e. “What might happen if I place ____ in the play space?” or ‘How will the toddlers respond when they encounter ___ in the play space?” or, “In what ways will the toddlers respond if I add ___ to the daily routines?”
