She was the one who believe in him when no one else did. No matter how much her father hurt her she still loved him to death.  "You know if it's humanly possible, I'll get to you. Jeannette asked her father that all she wanted for her birthday was for him to stop drinking. That's every person with an alcoholic father or mother wish. Rex stop drinking for a couple of months until one day he came home stumbling and looking for Rose Mary. It's all a matter of time until he goes to his old ways. Children think that drinking can be stopped but it's  harder than you believe. The withdraw Rex had were intense. "Never did built that Glass Castle." The dream house they'd always plan on building never came true. Brian cared a lot about his sisters and he felt like it was his job to protect them because his father couldn't do that. He was fine with the clothes he wore.
