3. Create Your Own Mini-Story
   Inspired by the book you watched, write your own short story or comic strip. You can:

   • Create a story with a similar theme (e.g., friendship, courage, being different)

   • Invent a new character who enters the story world

   • Rewrite the ending in your own way

4. Share or Present

   • Share your “Wonders” and your story with a friend or family member

   • If possible, record yourself reading your story aloud like the actors on Storyline Online

Watch the video and afterwards try creating your own piece of land art. Think about the materials you can use. Can you create patterns using different types of materials - think about size shape and pattern. and the shapes and patterns you create.

What to do:

• Collect clean, used items from around your home (like cardboard boxes, bottle caps, paper rolls, fabric scraps, straws or plastic containers).

• Plan a sculpture: it could be a robot, animal, vehicle, building or something from your imagination!

• Build your sculpture using tape, glue, string, or whatever tools you have.

• Add details with paint, markers, or extra textures.

• Give your sculpture a name and write a few sentences about what it is and why you made it.

Challenge Yourself:

• Use at least 4 different materials.

• Include a repeating shape or pattern in your design.

• Make your sculpture stand up on its own!

What to do:

• Use natural items like berries, spinach, turmeric, beetroot or red cabbage to create your own paints.

• Crush or blend the ingredients and mix them with a bit of water to make your colours.

• Mix two or more natural colours.

• Try painting on different materials (paper, cardboard, fabric, wood).

Sound Detective – Level Up

• Close your eyes and listen carefully for 5 sounds, both near and far.

• Write them down or draw them (e.g. leaves rustling, people talking, birds chirping).

• Describe each sound: Was it high or low? Loud or soft? Quick or slow?

• Where do you think the sound came from?

Inside vs Outside Listening - Deeper Thinking

• Sit quietly and listen inside for 3 minutes.

• Then move (if you can) and listen outside for another 3 minutes.

• Use a table or Venn diagram to compare what you heard.

• Were the sounds different? Why? What was surprising?

  
  

🎨 Creative Response:

• Draw or paint two pictures:

  • One for inside sounds

  • One for outside sounds

• Use shapes, lines, and colours to show how each sound made you feel.

• Can you describe it using all your senses - not just hearing?

• Find a wall, fence or tree to jump near.

• Jump and reach as high as you can with your hand.

• Mark your highest point - you could use chalk, sticky tape or have someone note it down.

• Jump forward as far as you can, using your arms to help you push off.

• Measure your jump with a tape measure or count your footsteps.

• Keep a jumping journal where you write down or draw your results.

1. Read the article about Egypt on Egypt Country Profile - National Geographic Kids | National Geographic Kids

2. Create a postcard (drawing or folding a piece of paper to look like one).

3. On one side, draw a picture of something exciting you saw in Egypt. It could be a pyramid, the Nile River, a camel, or a desert scene.

4. On the other side, write a short postcard message (6–8 sentences). Describe:

   • Where you are in Egypt.

   • What the weather is like.

   • What you have seen or learned.

   • What food you’ve tried.

Think about a usual (or unusual!) day during the holidays. What do you do from morning to night?
Choose 4–6 key moments to include in your comic.

Example Moments:

• Waking up late

• Having pancakes for breakfast

• Going to the beach or park

• Visiting a friend or family

• Playing games or watching a movie

• Staying up late with a bedtime story

2. Turn It into a Comic Strip

On a piece of paper or comic strip template, draw one box for each part of your holiday day.

• Use speech bubbles and thought bubbles to show what you or others might say or think.

• Add captions to describe what is happening in each scene.

• Show facial expressions and actions to make your comic fun and lively.

3. Make It Creative!

Have fun and use your imagination! You can keep it realistic or add some silly or magical twists:

• Maybe your pillow flies you to breakfast.

• Your dog could talk and plan your day.

• You might go on a treasure hunt in your garden.

• Ice cream might fall from the sky!

You’re going on a trip and you need to pack carefully!

Your challenge:

• Choose 8–10 items you’d like to pack (clothes, toys, books, etc.).

• Estimate or look up the weight of each item in kilograms or grams.

• Your bag can only hold 10kg. What can you fit?

• Try different combinations. Can you get it exactly to 10kg? What’s the lightest bag you could pack?

• Check the weight of your bag by using scales and reading the mass

✏️ Be a thinker: Can you explain your strategy for choosing items?

Use your body and your brain to explore measuring and comparing on your holiday.

Your challenge:

• Estimate your height in metres and centimetres. Then measure it!

• Use your feet to measure how long your room is. How many steps does it take to walk across it?

• Measure and compare the height of 3–5 things (e.g. a suitcase, a book, a water bottle). Which is tallest? Which is shortest?
  
  ✏️ Be an inquirer: What surprised you? Were your estimates close?

Your Task:

1. Write a short report about your experiment.

   Include:

   • What you were trying to find out or create

   • What materials you used

   • The steps you followed

2. Record your results.

   • What did you see happen? What changed?

   • Take photos or draw pictures to show your experiment

3. Explain the science.

   • Why do you think it worked? What caused the reaction or change?

   • Use your own ideas or ask an adult to help you research

Bonus:

Try changing one thing in your experiment and see if the result changes!

Try changing one part of the experiment. What happens if you use warm water instead of cold? Or more vinegar than before? Record your new results!
