She also uses her knowledge of hunting to set up snares to capture animals for food. In chapter twelve, she uses the snares she set up to catch a rabbit which she then skins, cleans,cuts up and cooks over a fire.She then uses a broken branch from the tree that she climbed as a walking stick as she searches for water. She soon finds a stream that she uses to refill her canteen. She already knows that in order to make a good show for an increase in sponsers, she has to get through the tough parts of the games.
