Within today's society, the government changes the way people look at the government though social media. The government influences the people of the United States through tweets, Instagram posts, and articles that appear on Facebook. These affect the way people think of our government and they often end up bashing the government because they don't agree with something they have said or done. Such posts have caused riots and spurred arguments against our government, and also showing a form of doubt within our government with the amount of troubles people of America are going through. This destroys the unity within the country and the way people interact with one another.

One of the most glaringly obvious connections between artistic works and governmental institutions in our world today is the art form of late night talk shows. These shows draw much of their comedic escapades from the world of government scandals and other such happenings with our elected officials. The two feed off of one another and are connected based on their contempt for one another.

I really like this thesis. I think that the topic of social media is a perfect one for this discussion. your examples really supported the main idea. The only issue I had was that the ideas seemed to jump around a lot form one thing to another.

Based on the artistic works and governmental happenings of today's society, one of the most fascinating connections seen in the United States today is how music artists portray their personal opinions in their music. Due to lots of disagreement in the governmental system in today's society, artists have been writing songs regarding their stance on the government system and using them to try and persuade their listeners to hear them out and take their side. Some of these artists, however, are causing fans of their own to go against them and disagree with their statements. With things like this happening, why would artists try to include politics in their work? This direct connection between political viewpoints from celebrities and elected government officials have stirred a massive controversy in the music industry and well as the government system.

Interesting point Connor. What would you suggest to these artists to do instead of expressing their views in their music? Jordan Peterson, professor at the University of Ontario, says that the best thing to do is to read good books and become an articulate person. Articulation means power! He says... What do you think? Should activists and artists all the same hit their libraries or remain in their current position of little jabs here and there.

one of the major but often forgotten impacts of governments institutions , is that they limit what can be seen in certain areas of the media (tv expletive, movie guide lines and ect). if someone makes a artistic creation that goes against government policy , they have a very difficult time getting exposure . creating a whole other median where things and ideas are shared . causing a separation from government and people .

One very prominent way that artistic creations and government affect one another is through the television media. From the news (or fake news) to entertainment programming like Southpark, Blackish and SNL, government issues and politics drive the narrative of the these programs. On the other hand televisual media stirs the masses into being active in molding government and political policy.
