Ferdinand (husband): Honey I understand where you are coming from I just don't want to see you get hurt
Ida: No this isn't right they lynch black men but leave the white men out of it, aren't we all the same?
Ferdinand: Well this world is trying to make it seem like we are but we both know its never that way
Ida: Okay then i'm gonna do something it just not fair, my best friend gets lynched and you or one of the boys could be next for the smallest things.
Ferdinand: I get that it just a cold world and by putting yourself out there like that it will attract danger to you
Ida: If they harm me in anyway it will just prove my point without me even having to do anything else
Ferdinand: I just don't want it to ever get that close to you getting hurt
Ida: I am a strong independent black women ill do what I need to for my people and my family.  

This would be a realistic conversation between Ida and her husband because In 1894 Ida had set out to find the reasoning behind the lynchings of these black men and it would only make sense that she had her family in her mind most of the time because she had boys and a husband to worry about. Despite all she has been through like her parents dying at a very young age and taking in her brother and sister and all the criticism she had received throughout her live for voicing her opinion she remains fighting for whats right.

And for that we have each other"  I think that this would defiantly be a song on her play list because the basic start of her movement was the lynching of her 3 friendsB. Which then inspired her to do something because like the lyrics say "all we need is hope" that is what she was relying on. To have the hope to continue and to do it for her family that could have been the next victims of a lynching.

"I had my ups and downs, but I always find the inner strength to pull myself up. I was served lemons, but I made lemonade"  This song defiantly showed the overall meaning of her movement because it showed that even though she was born a young slave and has been dragged down she used that to to motivate herself to make a difference in a whole community of people. And I believe that the line "I was served lemons, but I made lemonade" really represents that fact that she was given this bitter life but she used her beliefs to turn it into a life she believed was just.

So I believe that she would have taken pictures of important photos she wanted use for her campaigns as well as take pictures of information that would help her in her articles .  

I also think that because she was a school teacher in a segregated school before she was fired for her vocal criticizing of the schools conditions, she would use the pictures of the school and her students to show the conditions of these children and what they were offered for their education compared to what the white schools were like. ]]> 2018-11-12 14:43:28 UTC https://padlet.com/brianna_baltutis/vxjwe5zl3wfi/wish/303278540 brianna_baltutis https://padlet.com/brianna_baltutis/vxjwe5zl3wfi/wish/303278793 Twitter:  Ida being journalist in Memphis she would voice lots of her opinions through her papers which caused her to be hated among the white community in Memphis and that pushed them to destroy all of her equipment while she was away in New York. They then threatened to kill her if she ever returned. So using twitter to voice her opinions would be a good way to show the people in Memphis that even though they destroyed her work there it would not stop her from continuing to fight for whats right. It would even allow her to connect with others that felt the same and try and join together to create a bigger movement.

Instagram: As an activist I think she would have wanted to voice her opinion over more than one social media platform so she could spread her awareness through pictures that she could post on Instagram with paragraphs to show people the meaning behind her movement and I think it would effect people more if they seen how badly they were treated followed by her prestigious writing  to move people even more to help her in her movement.

VSCO:  VSCO is a app that allows people to connect through powerful pictures that either provide and aesthetic or provide a meaning to a social group. So Ida could take pictures of different social norms that she didn't believe where right and provide meaning and  powerful pictures to show people the true meaning of her movement.
