We can get what we need by bartering or trading something that we can get again with something we can not afford. I read the story Clever Jack Takes the Cake the text says that Jack was invited to the princess's party and he was wondering what he could get as her gift so the next morning Jack traded his ax for two bags of sugar and his quilt far a sack of flour he gave a handful of seed in exchange of two fresh eggs and he kissed a cow on it's nose for a pail of it's sweetest milk he gathered walnuts he dipped candles and searched for the most biggest most juiciest strawberry ever. Then he went home and made a cake with ten candles. Then he had the pass lots of people and had to barter with his cake.In my own words I would say that you need to stay positive and barter if you need to.

They bartered because it was hard to get money and lots and lots of people DID NOT have money so if one person needs a cow and if the other person does not want the trade she or he cuold always solve the problm by finding MILK instead of geting a COW,bartering is a great way to get what you need without spending any money, and we still do it today.
