As a teacher, I need to relate everything we are learning back to how it is important in real life. So many times students as, “Why do we need to learn this?” “When will we ever use this in life?”

Ex. “e = mc²” means nothing at all until we understand that the ‘e’ (for ‘energy’), the ‘m’ (for the mass of an object) and the ‘c’ (the speed at which light travels) have real values in the real world. It is useful to engineering, medical research, transportation technologies, chemistry and energy generation.
