         <description><![CDATA[<div>Women helped during the war by having the opportunity to have a job because there were not enough men to operate the jobs. This made them feel free and responsible. All of the citizens were forced to do black-out drills and to have rations. Rations helped feed the people who were at war.  Even schools could help in the war. They helped by finding scrapes to use as materials. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Americans at home were affected by World War II in many ways. Since all or most of the men were at war, women, who usually stayed at home raising children, cooking and cleaning, many job opportunities opened up. Women got jobs in factories, fire departments, labs, and many more. <br>In WWII, food was rationed because of the lack of it. Civilians were given rationing books with stamps they could trade in for food. <br>Blackout drills, drills to practice procedure in case of an air raid were established to practice.<br><br>In all, there were many new things introduced at the home front in WWII.</div>]]></description>

When the war started all the men went off and the woman were left with a lot of job opportunities.  Almost all of the woman took these jobs.  When the war ended all of the woman had to quit their jobs because the men were the ones who were supposed to work.</div>]]></description>
