I'm from Fremont, California and I am a first year aerospace engineering major.

For me, I didn't grow up knowing what I wanted to study or what career path I would take until the summer leading up to my junior year of high school. I randomly came across a series that Time Magazine did on an astronaut that spent a year in space, named Scott Kelly. I become fascinated with engineering and technology advancements that have been done in order to have the ability to sent a person to space for a year. This encouraged me to pursue a career in engineering. My goal is to work for NASA or for a Formula 1 team as an engineer.

However, topics that I enjoy learning about is women's rights and understanding the different challenges that people of color experience. Starting college, I wanted to find ways to incorporate social causes/issues into my field of work in the future. I am eager to learn about different races and genders in order to help diminish any challenges that people of color or women may face in STEM but also in society.

Some Issues that interest me are:
-Women's Rights: Equal Pay, Maternity Leave, and more women in male dominated fields.
-Stem diversity: more women and people of color.
-Immigration: being able to give people opportunities that I was given having parents that are immigrants.
