Gabrielle’s childhood was unique as she was an orphan who grew up in a convent. 

One source says, “Undoubtedly her childhood at the convent, surrounded by nuns in monochrome habits and a spartan environment, sparked her enthusiasm for minimalism,” (“Coco Chanel: The Original Influencer). 

This explains how Gabrielle being raised in such a conservative environment, led her to to be a adult that was the opposite.

Gabrielle was titled one of the most powerful designers of the 1920’s. 

It was a confirmed fact that Gabrielle had been sleeping with powerful/higher class men to get her recognition and make ends meet when she was set off on her own.

Gabrielle’s great-niece once said, “She did what she had to survive,” (“Coco Chanel: The Original Influencer”). 

Coco’s scandalous come-up made her a critical target; but, because of the world changing impact she made, Gabrielle is still considered a feminist icon and one of the most respected fashion designers to this day.

Gabrielle is the type of rebel that is similar to Clarisse. 

The two are similar because both fought to challenge societal authority.

Secondly, both of them took their ideas in the world, and spread them. They shared possibilities of new ideas, and they never let being out of normal, stop their creativity.

This quote suggests how Gabrielle became recognized because she gave the people a creative and confident way of expressing themselves how they wished to.

The impact rebels have on the world, is so important because if there was nobody to question authority, everything would be hand picked from the government. 

The impact Gabrielle Chanel had on the world was life changing, and still exists more than ever today. 

Without Gabrielle’s rebellion against traditional fashion,  women all around the world would still be limited to only wearing the clothing that they were associated with. 

But now, our world continues to evolve with gender neutrality; and no matter how you identify yourself, you have the same rights to wear what you please. 

A news article states, “Gabrielle Chanel made clothes for women not just for their bodies but for their lives,” (Bailey). 

This quote states the movement Gabrielle brought onto women, and their deserved equality to men.
