Gavin, Braxton , Colten Other countries were getting jealous of how others' militarism was advancing. Before the war started other countries were making an alliance. Other imperialisms were rapidly getting bigger and others wanted to take them down. Either way if any of the places went to war there people would go with them.

Conflict - A very serious argument and typically a protracted one.

Modernization - It is the process of adapting to something of modern needs.

Propaganda - A biased or leaned statement used to promote political information.

All three of these connect to WW 1 because wars always involve conflict. Modernization is needed because of the constant technology change and upgrades to military weaponry. And propaganda is sometimes used during war to promote a certain side and why their better than the other. Or to make untruthful statements about the other side to make people turn.
