I chose this topic because it’s a little insight to the topic I chose for my term paper. This is a controversial issue that’s arisen from one of the several loopholes that exist in the Airbnb market. Perhaps one of the most ingenious ideas, Airbnb is an online based company that allows people to rent out their homes for short term boarding (similar market concept to ‘Uber’). In this report, a commercial sex worker defends the use of Airbnbs for accommodating her clients. Her argument is that there is no difference between her actions and any other couples renting the same property for pleasure. Airbnb operators, on the other hand see it as a security risk as the identity of potential ‘Johns’ are difficult to verify.
