This is a freshman becoming a sophomore

I’m writing this to let you know what you have to do to graduate and my personal experience as a freshman. One is all classes are easy in my opinion all you have to do is get to your classes in time, pay attention, and ask questions all teachers are here are friendly and so are the guidance counselors. Second is changing your classes after one semester there are many fun classes here in Murrow you could change after semester 1 and try new things, there are also many gym programs you could try. Lastly This school may seem big for some people but to me it’s an average size if you get lost you on your first day here you could ask the deans or teachers.

• don't eat food at school and don't drink

chocolate milk too much.

• do not quarrel with teachers and it is better not to get into any fights if you want to study quietly for several years at school.

• уou need a pass for everything here, so you'll have to get used to it.

• don't be silent if you need something.

As a former Freshman, I am writing to you to help you in your first year at Murrow High School. On the first day you will have to find the offices by yourself without any help, but I can tell you that on the first floor most of the offices are offices for some kind of questions, that's where the counselor is and you can ask him/her a question, and if he/she is not there you can scan the code on the door and mail him/her. I recommend follow to the school's social networks (mostly instagram) so you don't miss out on new and exciting events or weekends! And I don't recommend skipping out if you have strict parents, the school will call home right away and they will know. Learn about how papers are graded, how important they are and how they take up 30% (for example) of your overall grade, if you are tired and can't do all the assignments, you can do only the most influential ones for the sake of a passing grade (but it's better to try, of course.) Don't forget that communicating in your own language won't always save you and other people may understand what you are saying. The school has clubs on different subjects and after school tutorings that give you credits. You should always go to the restroom with passes, because the guards check for them, so don't forget to take them when you leave the classroom. Don't be afraid to meet new people, there are a lot of friendly and good people here!

• Focus a lot more in math and science classes, because if you don’t pay attention, it’s really hard to catch up. (If you don’t like science and you have chemistry then GOOD LUCK 💀)

• Review the regents on “JMAP” since you’ll be able to get used to the questions quicker.

• Watch YouTube videos or search on google a lot, sometimes teachers aren’t the best, or they forget to mention something that can be important for your understanding of the subject.

• Some classes will offer extra credit. Even if your grade is fine, make sure to check the assignment, since some are really easy and can help boost your grade. Some don’t take much time and effort.

• If you’re writing an essay, you can quickly type out a large “outline”, and don’t worry about the grammar and spelling, since that can be fixed at a later time. Usually it is better to just complete as much as you can (in my experience).

When you show up to class do your homework/classwork, and participate in class you are setting yourself up for good grades and it helps being consistent in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.

The second piece of advice is finding a good friend at Murrow

Murrow has many great people that I’ve met but however there is the bad.Having at least one friend at Murrow makes school a lot more fun.Honesty again be careful with who you become friends with.Also during your freshman year of Murrow participate in a event such as fairs and clubs at least once.

Third advice is to take this advice seriously because you probably would need it especially advice number 1.

When i first cane into this buulding i was scared. I thought that i wouldnt have made friends and i wouldve failed all my classes. But right now im doing great, im not failing anything and i have many friends. I would say that in the beginning of the year its best to focus on the studies and make many friends because its better to make many friends and to experience the first year. Its always hard in the beginning but at the end it will all be worth it.

Make sure to join or look at clubs and the many activities the school offers, you’ll meet a bunch of like minded people who share the same interests and the school also have special days where people can dress up on a theme or do activities and it really brings the community together. Make sure to stay out of fights and drama, don’t try to get involved in anything like that when isn’t about you because it really won’t help you out in the long wrong and complicates things. Bathrooms are only open during classes except for the first and last 10 minutes, so make sure to spend your time wisely, especially on Fridays when the time is shortened during class periods. And overall don’t forget to have fun there are lots of classes to choose from in the future and make sure that you enjoy your high school years as much as you can, good luck in freshman year freshman, we all know you can do it <333

the most important thing is to have fun! don’t be too boring make sure to have fun.
