Hello freshmen, First day of school can be challenging since you don’t know where the classes are. For me it took me a few weeks until I remembered where they were. If you’re lost, you can always ask a staff member. They will be happy to help you out. You could also ask around students for help. Don’t skip classes and do your work on time, you’ll get a grade you’re happy with. Ask your teachers for help in class. Don’t be scared, your teachers are happy to help you out. You only can use bathrooms between times. Like when each class starts you’ve to wait 10 minutes for the bathroom. When there’s only 10 minutes left until class end. You cannot use it. Try making some friends and memories, I promise you it’s worth it. First day I was worried that I wouldn’t make any friends but in the end I did. I didn’t really like the guy sitting in front where we would walk in and swipe our card. He got mad at me just because I didn’t know what time we were supposed to go in. Don’t worry about what other people think about your. Enjoy freshman year and just do your work on time. You would get full credits and a good grade. Try not to be late to class and just enjoy while you’re at it. Best of luck ♥️

Dear freshmen’s there is a lot of homework here for some classes especially for math but if you study it will be easy for you. Many classes here are interesting and the teachers explain the topic well. At the beginning it will be difficult for you because it is a big school and it is difficult to adapt to it. This school has many after school activities where you can improve your skills. Here you can find many friends from different cultures and countrie.

Going into high school as a freshmen wasn’t the worst as I thought or more like my teachers told me. Your teachers might scare you saying how high school will be hard and the techies won’t remember your name but some are not true. Yes high school is very hard than middle school but it’s not like worst like my middle school told me. The teachers remembered my name really good. I wish I knew this before coming to high school because this thoughts were making me nervous and anxious. One thing I knew before going into high school is never start off your first year being nervous. Make sure to do the works and respect the teachers because at the end the grades for each semester counts. I made friend easily by the first week and I know you will too even if you didn’t it’s ok because at the end the most thing that matters is your grade. Good luck and don’t be afraid.

One is all classes are easy in my opinion all you have to do is get to your classes in time, pay attention, and ask questions all teachers are here are friendly and so are the guidance counselors. Second is changing your classes after one semester there are many fun classes here in Murrow you could change after semester 1 and try new things, there are also many gym programs you could try. Lastly This school may seem big for some people but to me it’s an average size if you get lost you on your first day here you could ask the deans or teachers.

See you all in September.

Always like ALWAYS do your homework because its really important. Have fun that year because soon it will get harder more than this. My experience was a little rough because i had people staring at me and thats just normal for people here i guess so but dont start any drama here because thats just not worth your time. Get into clubs maybe if you would like to get into sports. Have connects with teacher because as time goes on you would have to ask a teacher on some recommendations on colleges if your going. Just in general have fun, but always remember to focus on your subjects because its getting harder and harder as time past. Good luck and always be smart in your decisions!

Hello, freshmen! First of all, welcome to Murrow High School! You should to know that you have your own guidance counselor. The counselor will always help you with any of your questions! You require to know that you need to sort out your schedule because if you don’t do that in your first day, you will get lost and not know where to look on other days. For your physical education classes you should take a locker for safety your goods in locker room. Although, you can bring for yourself. So, please don’t be shy to ask a questions for your teachers because they will always support and try to help you! Of course, maybe not all teachers will be so kind and supportive, but most of them should be grateful. Well, if you not good in English, tell your teacher because they will allow you use your phone. (And please! Please don’t copy from internet your question because at the end of the year you will regret it, because the exams will come soon). In addition, please think about your classes after school because you can get more study habits and credits for your classes, and great experience! So, please do not scare to ask for bathroom because we don’t have a break. And you should be very organized, since you always need to know what you should post on Google classroom and you require to get at Google classroom every day! Well, I am very proud that you came to high school!

Hello, dear Freshman.

As a former Freshman, I am writing to you to help you in your first year at Murrow High School. On the first day you will have to find the offices by yourself without any help, but I can tell you that on the first floor most of the offices are offices for some kind of questions, that's where the counselor is and you can ask him/her a question, and if he/she is not there you can scan the code on the door and mail him/her. I recommend follow to the school's social networks (mostly instagram) so you don't miss out on new and exciting events or weekends! And I don't recommend skipping out if you have strict parents, the school will call home right away and they will know. Learn about how papers are graded, how important they are and how they take up 30% (for example) of your overall grade, if you are tired and can't do all the assignments, you can do only the most influential ones for the sake of a passing grade (but it's better to try, of course.) Don't forget that communicating in your own language won't always save you and other people may understand what you are saying. The school has clubs on different subjects and after school tutorings that give you credits. You should always go to the restroom with passes, because the guards check for them, so don't forget to take them when you leave the classroom. Don't be afraid to meet new people, there are a lot of friendly and good people here!

I think that's all for now. Have a good academic year, freshman, I wish you lots of luck.

Going to the first day of a brand new school can always be the worst, but there are defenitely ways to overcome this obstacle. My first advice for you is to make as much as friends as you can. Althogh it is possible to go through high school without a friend, you’ll need them in any situation in your life some day. My second advice is to actually focus on your work, whether its late or early, useful or useless, these will depend on your life as colleges are looking for people with the most determination. My third and final advice is if you have struggles with doing school work, do not ever be afraid to ask for help wether its a parent or a friend of yours, maybe a stranger, who knows! Following these steps for 4 years may seem the worst, but at the end, you are not gonna regret every step you took, so make your future self feel glad about you.

At some point it does get better around the 2nd or 3rd marking period. The 1st semester is always the most stressful for freshmen.

hi freshman’s, congratulations on getting into murrow! We have so much APs for each of the main core subjects (english, math, science or history) take them! it’ll boost your average and you won’t have to pay 1000s of dollars in college if you pass the test. Breathe, semester 1 is always a bit harder because you’re getting used to the process but semester 2 goes by like a breeze. Take advantage of the programs we have, you can earn scholarships! In terms of global history, do not worry that you’re going to forget what you learned this year in sophomore, you won’t! Every single skill you learn in this class, you will take with you in your 4 years. Some days you will have bad days where you won’t want to come to school, but hold on because every day is closer to graduation. It’ll only be easy if you make it easy, put in a bit of effort and murrow will do the rest. Take notes, raise your hand, read documents, watch videos! All the resources are provided to you so use them. Also side note: if you have trouble printing at home, go to the library it’s all free!

from sophia ❤️

Hello freshman’s I want to tell you that it is hard for your first couple of weeks but you will be a sophomore before you know it. This year went so fast but you only have to not think of it as stressful. Think of freshman year as a new opportunity to meet new people and learn new things.

The first important thing to know is making school a priority.

When you show up to class do your homework/classwork, and participate in class you are setting yourself up for good grades and it helps being consistent in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.

The second piece of advice is finding a good friend at Murrow

Murrow has many great people that I’ve met but however there is the bad.Having at least one friend at Murrow makes school a lot more fun.Honesty again be careful with who you become friends with. Also during your freshman year of Murrow participate in a event such as fairs and clubs at least once.

Third advice is to take this advice seriously because you probably would need it especially advice number 1.

heyyyy first day of school i was lost tryna find my classes and hallways were mad crowded but now it’s alright. it takes time to get used to high school. i get people might wanna skip classes because you guys dislike the class or whatever just letting y’all know teachers knows when you guys are skipping so let’s just come to class and be on time. i’m not the type of person to come on time everyday during my first class because of trains or buses or i just wasn’t able to get up early but i’ll still try to put five alarms every morning so i can get myself up and come to school. honestly high school wasn’t as bad as i thought, some teachers may be strict and gives you a lot of work but it’s okayy school goes by fast. freshman year went by super fast and i can’t believe myself becoming a sophomore!! good luck with y’all freshman year !!🤞🤞

Dear Future Freshman,

When i first cane into this buulding i was scared. I thought that i wouldnt have made friends and i wouldve failed all my classes. But right now im doing great, im not failing anything and i have many friends. I would say that in the beginning of the year its best to focus on the studies and make many friends because its better to make many friends and to experience the first year. Its always hard in the beginning but at the end it will all be worth it.

Highschool is going to feel very new and you’re going to feel nervous but if something makes you nervous and it’s out of your comfort zone then go for it. Also don’t be scared to ask the teachers questions or email them because they really are just trying to help. And don’t be bummed out if your not making new friends the first week you’re here because most of the times you’ll make the right friends towards the end of the year. For classes just keep up with work because if the teachers see you’re just doing the work then they’ll more lenient.

Freshman year isn’t as scary as it seems especially with the idea of high school, it’s gonna be hard to get used to, the school is big and I got lost especially during the first month of school. Make sure that you have all the right classes in your schedule, your guidance counselors are here to help you and they’ll gladly help you settle in and help you get on track to graduate. Make sure to not burn yourself out during the first marking periods, it is good to study and prepare yourself but if you study too much you will feel fatigue and lose motivation and it can really affect your performance especially if you start slacking on homework’s, the homework’s and classwork grades can really pile up against you if you aren’t careful.

Make sure to join or look at clubs and the many activities the school offers, you’ll meet a bunch of like minded people who share the same interests and the school also have special days where people can dress up on a theme or do activities and it really brings the community together. Make sure to stay out of fights and drama, don’t try to get involved in anything like that when isn’t about you because it really won’t help you out in the long wrong and complicates things. Bathrooms are only open during classes except for the first and last 10 minutes, so make sure to spend your time wisely, especially on Fridays when the time is shortened during class periods. And overall don’t forget to have fun there are lots of classes to choose from in the future and make sure that you enjoy your high school years as much as you can, good luck in freshman year freshman, we all know you can do it <333

This school has its ups and downs. But in the end the education is very good in this school. I enjoyed this school for the options of classes I will have going into future years and as a student athlete Murrow not having a baseball team and allowing kids to play for Grady is nice. Try your best in your classes as the teachers are very nice and don’t usually give anyone a hard time unless you give them a hard time. This school is also very open to new ideas as new kids come to this school every year. Don’t be overwhelmed by the size of the school as it’s very large compared to most middle schools unless you went to a big middle school like Mark Twain. I also, would advise you to get a locker as it is very helpful throughout the year as you can put all your books and equipment if you are a student athlete or a music kid instead of carrying it around everywhere. Try your best and after the first year everything will go easy. Good luck!

I know the first day is nerve racking, new people, new teachers it may be overwhelming and it's definitely hard figuring out where all your classes are however it's important to just ask around and go with the flow. Don't overthink it, trust me it's easier than you think. When talking to others don't try so hard to be cool because it may come across as forced. Lastly don't slack off just because the semester is ending because it really does count later. Make sure to come in calmly, you will find friends in time

I know all of you are probably very nervous i definitely was, but trust me it’s not as scary as you think. The first day was definitely a little nerve recking and confusing obviously when you get gent the building, finding your classes, feeling, nervous, scared or even embarrassed it’s ok i was too, but my first band i already made a friend. Once that first day is over it won’t seem as scary as you thought. freshman year has definitely been a year but i wouldn’t wanna change it, there have been many struggles with friends, school, etc but there all just lessons or entertainment. Now at the end of the year i realized that it really wasn’t as scary as i thought i never realized how fast i fit in and how no one in murrow really cares no not the teachers and staff, but the people and how there are so many people in this school and you will find your own group here, trust me i did.

I encourage you to stay on top of your work and don't slack off because that would lead to more stress in the future. Meet lots of people but don't make too much friends to a point that it will be annoying. Talk to a few upperclassmen to understand more about Murrow. Good luck from a sophmore!
