The Strange Men

Once they arrived to Fayge's hometown they see old fashion cars and army trucks in front shul. Men in black uniforms are in front of the cars. Hannah realizes it is 1942, and the men are the Nazis. She try's to warn everyone but Rabbi Boruch that they shouldn't fear that they should only fear God.

The Ride in the Trucks

They also had to take their clothes off then they had to find very old clothes from people who have been killed. When it was Hannah's turn he was wearing the guards daughter outfit before she died and had the same name as her.(Chaya) They also had to have new names as numbers.

The New Clothes

After their hair got cut, all the women from Chaya's village had to take their clothes off then they had to find very old clothes from people who were killed.

The Arrival at the Camp

After two whole days in the boxcars, Hannah's village arrived at their destination- a concentration camp. The camp's door is a door that says: "Work makes you free"

The deaths of many

During the ride in the boxcars 5 old ladies died and one baby. They have thrown the poor humans like they were trash and left them dead. :(

The New Numbers/Names

After they change into new clothes Hannah gets in line to get a number inked onto her arm. When it was Hannah's turn he was wearing the guards daughter outfit before she died and had the same name as her.(Chaya) The guard said that her number is her new name (J197241).

No More Memories

The First Chosen Ones

Out of Chaya's group the first chosen ones were Rabbi Boruch, Zadek the tailor, the badchan, the butcher from Viosk, the rendar, and two dozen others. All of these people died which was really hard on Hannah and the others. After that it became part of a routine.

Rivka,Gitl,Yitzchack,Wolfe Survive

Wow, the only people that survive in the book it turns out Rivka is Aunt Eva, Wolfe is Grandpa Will,Yitzshack is Yitzshcak and Gitil is Gitil. The people who changed their names because they did not want to remember what happened.

After the escape of the concentration camps.

Aunt Eva tells Hannah what happened to Yitzchak, Gitl, and Leye and her baby. Leye and her baby survived. Gitl and Yizchak moved to Israel and became close friends and never got married. Yitzchak became a politician. Gitl orginized a rescue mission to save the lives of young survivors and locating their family's. This became an adoption agency called, Chaya Life.
