This app promotes student engagement in and outside the classroom, as it allows students to share their documents with teachers and other students. It can be used for writing essays, completing assignments, projects with other students in the class so they can work collaboratively. This is a great resource for teachers to make sure that students are practicing and applying what they learn as well as building skills for working and learning from others ( a life skill), and at the same time, providing feedback to students. Principle three in the UDL framework is to provide multiple means of engagement, which is what almost all of these resources create for students. I have used this many times to ensure student engagement in the classroom.

https://www.google.com/?client=safari

Cell phones are a big part of today’s students, so why not let them use them to express themselves? This Seesaw app allows students to take pictures, add text or audio commentary on an online journal. This app is similar to Google Docs because it can be shared with the teacher so they can view their learning process. An app like this helps teachers observe and monitor all students’ learning in the room. I am interested in using this resource with my class.

https://web.seesaw.me

I have used this while I was in school many times. This website creates an easy way to post, sort, and comment on students’ ideas. I have used these for projects and assignments and it works similar to a bulletin board but way better because you can attach audio, videos and images right from the internet. This allows for student expression, engagement and representation, which is what teachers try to aim for when choosing tools to help not only language learners but also the whole class. Principle 2 of the UDL framework is all about creating options for student’s expression and communication.

https://padlet.com

This is similar to Khan Academy but students need to be more careful as to what they watch because just about anyone can make a YouTube and explain something wrong. However, most of the time there are teachers going over many lessons that may help many students by targeting certain parts of the lesson that a teacher may miss in class. This works to differentiate instruction to those who need it.

https://www.youtube.com

This website is usually an excellent educational resource to most students. Due to students’ different learning abilities, giving them another way to learn is essential. Sometimes students learn better, when content is both explained visually along with audio attached so this website has many videos with a huge range of content. Students can search up what they need more help on understanding and there is usually a video breaking down the content in different ways. Viewers can rewind, write down notes and rewatch them as many times as they want. The best thing about this source is that real educators or people with degrees make these videos.

https://www.khanacademy.org

This is an amazing resource for students and teachers to create flashcards and quizzes. I have used this many times myself to make online flashcards and study them throughout the day on my phone. Quizlet also has an app that you can download on your phone that makes it easy to study on the go. Usually when you swipe left on a flashcard it is because you want to add it back into the mix of cards and when you swipe right it means you have mastered it. Making your own quizzes based off the flash cards is another very neat tool and helps maximize personalized learning.

https://quizlet.com

It was an amazing source with cartoons explaining the material that at our time, “boring” teachers were going over. It is a great tool to deepen students' understanding. There are ways to be interactive with the website too, like challenges, and quizzes for students to master their learning

https://www.brainpop.com

This resource is an extension to download onto google chrome so students can have their screens read to them. There are also many websites that allow books to be read to you as well as one resource that we have at our school called Sora. Especially for students with low vision or visually impaired, to access content. They can also pick the speed so whatever is on the screen is read to their flexibility.

https://soraapp.com/library/masslibma

http://www.chromevox.com

Students are able to answer questions during challenges or quizzes on their own time, in moderation, which allow these lessons to be more self-paced. This resource is also another great way to promote collaboration between students and teachers as teachers can group students with one laptop or phone each to answer in teams. Students are also able to create their own kahoots to deepen understanding

https://kahoot.com
