In this session we read about and discussed international school projects. They are important for students, but also essential for teachers, to give them ideas and tools to build international projects and to strengthen global citizenship in themselves as well as their students and colleagues.
The teacher plays the role of a facilitator in the projects. It’s good to build the project around something that they are passionate about, then it is easier to get the students involved as well.
When building a project, we must always keep in mind the key competences.
The picture (thank you Sandra) is from our trip to La Pointe des Chateaux. I have visited other similar ”land’s end” -places around the world, and they have a special feel to them - here you are, at one spot on the Earth, just the ocean in front of your eyes, but you know what is on the other side. Knowing and seeing more about our world is my passion!

Working on projects in school is just motivating. Every teacher should do it, primarily for himself, afterwards for the pupils. Then it will work out because you are working for your passion. So the first question should always be „why?“.

We talked about international projects and learned basics of eTwinning. eTwinning was familiar to me before and I have used it for couple of Erasmus+ projects. I still have to admit that I could learn to use it more and start to do eTwinning projects too and learn what possibilities it has more to offer for international collaboration. It is platform could be used more in my own school. It gives students good changes to communicate, share ideas... to abroad.

Picture is from our trip to small island, which I’m going to remember. Nature here is unique.

International project at your school can be the good basis for the whole teaching and learning process.

Project-based learning encourages students to think about real world problems, work in teams, explore unknown information, seek solutions, think critically and creatively, learn from experience. Project activities at school integrate several things, encourage teachers to organize non-traditional learning, focus on key competences, and prepare students for real-life issues and solutions.

When we were in Pointe des Chateux, Ilet Caret and exploring mangroves, Bird islands, I wondered how much information, mind and emotion experiences that nature observation provides. Teachers, through collegial coloboration, can prepare for children excellent tasks that include subject-specific information (science, mathematics, languages, computers), artistic aspects, and reinforcing generic competences and values. Nature observation enables children to be researchers, inventors, and encourages them to focus on current issues and solutions, to think globally and to act locally. Project-based learning is attractive, lively, and motivates children to learn and be responsible people.

As more you know about projects, as broadly the doors to the world for yourself and your students you may open. I think that projects is the main activity for internacionalization to improve, because it is not only about knowledge: it's about feelings, values, new connections and relationships as well. And these things touch everyone. It means, that learning through these things is much more deeper, active and sustainable. And the greatest thing, that to participate in such an activities can everybode: no matter your speak english or german, russian or latvian language - the partners for projects can find everyone, who is motivated to find them.

today we get some information about the plattform e-twinning. It is useable to get in contact with other schools all over the world. We get information how it works. It has a search function so it is possible to find projects or teachers how are interested to a project as oneselfv very easily.
If you are a member of e-twinning you can also read about projects which are done.
If you want to do a project you can find a group of people and then e-twinning decide if this project will be sponsored.
I think it is a good possibility to get in contact.
The work with e-twinning has to be trained. The function are not self-explanatory. It could be easier.
