         <description><![CDATA[<div>L.I- We are learning about symbolism in The Giver <br><br>S.C- I have analysed some symbolism in The Giver<br><br>- Symbolism is when something in a text represents something else, a theme or idea.<br><br>The river: The river, runs into and thought the community. and out of the community and I believe runs through 'Elsewhere'. The river and Elsewhere symbolises escape from the community. It is like when Caleb the little for year old. It seems to be the only thing that the community can't control.<br><br>The sled: The sled is the very the first memory Jonas receives from The Giver.  It is a memory of pleasure and excitement.<br><br>Gabriel: Symbolises hope and starting over. <br><br>The colour red: </div>]]></description>
