I want a suitcase oriented photo because its about moving and i'm experimenting with recording with the suitcase drum-kit.

EP/Album: Grow Up;
some sort of photo revolving around me. Maybe a self portrait. This whole EP I wrote about my experiences with dealing with my mind and my emotions. and its helped me grow up as a person, I've actually used these songs to reflect on my life and realise things about myself.

Me playing the songs with my acoustic bass in secluded areas like the woods or floating down the river on a paddle-board.

Explaining why i've written the songs and what they mean to me before I show it to my audience.

Showing my DIY instruments and setups and how I recorded the tracks.

These will all be short form content on TikTok or instagram reels to try and gain engagement quickly.

Maybe livestream some of the process's, I want to do a livestream painting a self portrait while playing some of my music in the background and talking/ engaging with my audience. That could kill two birds with one stone then by also supplying the artwork. Heck, I can even do it dressed up like Bob Ross.

EP - Grow UP

My Goal with the EP is to create a listening experience that has a seamless transition from track to track. In order to do that, I am recording the guide track and EP on one logic file. I used the tempo list to change the metronome and feel of the track while still keeping the recordings and transitions sounding nice. This creates a clean slate ready to record drums to, using a mix of my DIY suitcase kit and the studio Kit.

When releasing these tracks, I would love to collaborate with a sound engineer I know from Northampton called lewis

Single Releases (The Demos)

I experimented a lot recording these tracks in my TightBox Studios. For instance I only recorded the drums with two condenser mics, using the Glyn Johns technique. The main focus was on my acoustic bass strung with Nylon round wound strings, other than the bottom E string being strung with nickel round wound strings for Extra bite. I also like to use a foam block under the strings to decrease the sustain and increase the attack. This helped me make my six string guitar sound tic tacky, highlighting the bass. I also added some extra percussion at some points to keep the track traveling.

The Equipment I have in my home studio is very limited but I managed to find resourceful DIY ways to create a professional and unique sound. I only have access to a Scarlet Focusrite 2i2 meaning I have two inputs. This made me more focus more into the mixing and ensuring that I had the best set up before recording. The Mics I have access are ; Rode Nt1a, SeV7, PZM plate Mic, DIY Telephone mic. This ended up creating a very minimalist set up with the stems that I had to mix however I still feel like something is missing and I want to add a synth, Possibly a Moog.

I am going to rerecord the vocals. The vocals you can hear was just last minute in the studio to give you an understanding of the lyrical content and context in the tracks. I am also bringing in a vocal coach to help me in the studio. I Will also use the uni studios when recording Grow UP.

The Mixing for these demos where done by me. This is the first mix and I have a lot to learn. They still need mastering as well.

I recorded my song Dyed Hair to Test my Telephone Mic and posted it on my insta back in April 2023. This is a great content idea and It worked really well getting comments like "Please release a full version of this so I can cry listening to it lmao, sounds so fucking good". This made me think differently, Inspiring me to record the softer music that I have written.

For context. Most of these tunes where written without the intention of being released and they are really exposing. They show the full emotions that I where feeling when I wrote them. I have decided to just release all of the music that I have used as an emotional outlet to express myself and work on some of my deepest thoughts.
