At the beginning of my journey, as a college student, I was really excited and I look forward to what I will experience in the following college years. As I get my I.D., I was quite taken aback as there is a sudden realization that I am going to be a college student specifically, an atenian/atenista. "Hala college ko. Ateneo pajud" I've told my tita as we exited the Roxas gate and she laughed when she hear me say that. There is a prejudice in our family that me being enrolled in a prestigious school was not worth it because of being enrolled in the education department. "Nag public nalang unta ka, sayang ra bayad sa imong mama ug papa." I was hurt by their judgments and prejudice on why I am enrolled in this institution. But for me, I was very determined and it was my dream to be able to study at my dream university. I was not scared to enter the school premises because my two high school friends also enrolled with me in the same department and at the same university. The first realization that I have prior to my first experience as a college student was that the classification/category of students was really present in a university. For example 'the varsity, rich kids, smart pants, nerds" and others, I thought na for kdrama or teen drama lang sya nahitabo HAHAHAHAHA. At first, I did not really say anything about why I chose this course even though there is a lot of courses that I think I am capable of. The thing is, how I gain this dream is quite embarrassing and dumb if others hear it. I think through this space I am comfortable sharing it with teachers and willing to admit it within myself. I dream of becoming a teacher because of a particular k-drama that I've watched. School 2015 is a k-drama based on the different stories of young students. What really hits me is how the teacher touches the lives of the students and is not just a tool for their academic endeavors. I personally knew that I want to become a teacher and a friend to them if the time comes. But I also carry burdens and self-doubts in this time. It feels like I'm a person who's challenged herself to venture on a trip with no guide, maps, or instruction on how to go towards the destination.

I learned that sometimes people do not have the same intention, feeling, or opinion like mine. There is a need to be sensitive and open enough to criticism and views of others to us. As a professional, I think it will help me in putting myself in other's shoes and not judge others immediately and my personal mission in life is to guide and help people.
