         <title>MINESWEEPER</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Minesweeper </strong></div><div><strong>Group Size:</strong> </div><div>ANY</div><div><strong>Age Group:</strong></div><div> ANY</div><div><strong>Resources Needed:</strong></div><div> Minesweeper template with path marked out</div><div><strong>Instructions:</strong></div><div>1)    Instructor decides on the safe path </div><div>2)    The minefield is marked out either in chalk or using the black/grey pontoon </div><div>3)    Students take it in turns to step on a square and if it is safe the instructor shouts ‘safe’ if it is a mine then they shout ‘bang’ and the student can either jump in the water or return to the beginning </div><div>4)    Students must work out the safe path by remembering where the mines are without pen and paper</div>]]></description>

         <title>STICKY SEAWEED</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong> Group Size:</strong> </div><div>6+ </div><div><strong>Age Group:</strong> </div><div>ANY</div><div> <strong>Resources Needed:</strong></div><div>NONE</div><div> <strong>Instructions:</strong></div><div>1)    A player is made the shark and stands in the middle of two banks with everyone else (fish) stand on one side</div><div>2)    The shark then invites the fish to swim to the other bank if they fit into a category, the shark will say ‘swim fishy swim if you…’</div><div>3)    All the fish that fit into that category then cross to the other bank without getting caught by the shark </div><div>4)    If a fish is caught they become seaweed and stay stood where they were caught </div><div>5)    Seaweed can then help the shark catch fish by swaying in their set positions </div><div>6)    The game continues until only one fish is left and they are the winner</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Group Size:</strong> </div><div>6+</div><div><strong>Age Group:</strong> </div><div>ANY</div><div><strong>Resources Needed:</strong> </div><div>Blindfold, 2 chairs</div><div><strong>Instructions:</strong></div><div>1)    One player gets blindfolded and becomes harbour patrol</div><div>2)    This person then stands between the 2 chairs which are set at a distance fairly far apart</div><div>3)    The other players are all submarines and must try and get through the harbour entrance when directed by the game leader </div><div>4)    Once each submarine has tried to pass through the entrance is made smaller and the game repeated </div><div>5)    The winner is the last submarine left</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Group Size:</strong> </div><div>10+</div><div><strong>Age Group:</strong> </div><div>ANY</div><div><strong>Resources Needed:</strong> </div><div>Old newspaper, selotape, white board</div><div><strong>Instructions:</strong></div><div>1)    Split the group up into smaller groups of no more than 4 and split them into areas of the room</div><div>2)    Get the teams to come up with a team name and write these on the whiteboard</div><div>3)    The newspaper is then distributed evenly and the teams have 20 minutes to build the tallest, stable tower </div><div>4)    There is one main rule, verbal communication is not allowed, points should be deducted for noisy teams </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Group Size:</strong> </div><div>8+</div><div><strong>Age Group:</strong> </div><div>ANY</div><div><strong>Resources Needed:</strong> </div><div>2 helmets and a coin</div><div><strong>Instructions:</strong></div><div>1)    The group is split into two teams who then sit opposite each other in two lines</div><div>2)    A helmet is placed at the end of each line </div><div>3)    Players then hold hands and shut their eyes</div><div>4)    The player at the start of the line then watch a coin being flipped </div><div>5)    If the coin lands on heads the player gently squeezes the hand of the player next to them, this is sent down the team’s line and the end player taps the helmet</div><div>6)    A point is one for the fastest team </div><div>7)    If a tails is flipped then no pulse should be sent down, however if a pulse is sent incorrectly the team loses a point </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Group Size:</strong> </div><div>8+</div><div><strong>Age Group:</strong> </div><div>ANY</div><div><strong>Resources Needed:</strong> </div><div>A boat per pair, paddles (if no wind), 4 marker buoys, Frisbee, whistle</div><div><strong>Instructions:</strong></div><div>1)    Set a rectangle across the wind with two buoys marking a line at each end </div><div>2)    The Frisbee starts in the middle of the rectangle and the teams must pass it between the boats in their team towards their end of the course</div><div>3)    When a boat has the Frisbee they must stop their boat until they have got rid of it </div><div>4)    To score the team must throw the Frisbee into one of their team boat positioned over their scoring line </div><div>5)    The winning team is the one with the most points after a set amount of time </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Group Size:</strong> </div><div>4+</div><div><strong>Age Group:</strong></div><div> Usually works best with 8-11s but can be used with older groups</div><div><strong>Resources Needed:</strong> </div><div>Chalk, Master Board, Dice</div><div><strong>Instructions:</strong></div><div><br></div><div>1)    Draw out the master board on the concrete paving outside using chalk </div><div>2)    Each player then rolls the dice in turn and moves that number of spaces</div><div>3)    There are special squares that require a certain action to be taken (see below)</div><div>4)    The winner is the first to the end </div><div>5)    In wet weather this can be played using an A3 copy of the board </div><div> </div><div>Special Squares: </div><div> </div><div>Masts: Straight lines – you climb up a mast to the end </div><div>Squalls: Clouds – You fall down a squall to the end of the arrow </div><div>Burgees: Flags with arrow pointing backwards – the wind changes direction move back a space </div><div>Compass: Cross – A prayer to the wind Gods jump up a row </div><div>Dredger: Block with stars – you’re in the exclusion zone miss a go </div><div>Question: Q – ask a theory questions relevant to stage, if correct get another go </div>]]></description>

A few have been outlined below</div><div>Game 1: Paddle forwards to the buoy go around and come back </div><div>Game 2: Paddle forwards to the mark, do a challenge then paddle backwards to base</div><div>Game 3: On the primos one person paddles to the buoy and back, they then pick up another member of the team and do the same thing again, this continues until all of the team has completed a lap on the board </div>]]></description>
