On that class they learned a new colour: yellow! They worked with real yellow objects in the class, watched a video where puppets danced, sang a song and ended the class dancing.

They are beginners. Most of them started at that school this year -they are 4 years old- and these are their first English classes. That’s why the teacher has to speak in Spanish in many different occasions. But they are a very intelligent group and they learn fast!

This class I sang, danced and worked with them from the beginning until the end of the class. They are lovely!

Whenever things were going the way they weren’t supposed to, she said things that guided me… like commands to the children.

We started with the ‘Hello’ song. They love that song and they are used to singing it in different ‘moods’. For example, they love singing it like ‘flash’, which means really fast, or ‘enfermado’, which means ill, so they sing and cough. I introduced a new way to sing it, which is ‘hiccups’. 

Then we worked on the family members: mother, father, baby. We said the words, repeat them, point and touch the family members in a photo. After that, we made some animal families, and they painted them. They don’t know, but those animal families that they painted will be part of an activity in class 2.

They loved the video that I showed them. 
Another good thing is that I really want to go back! ;) Their teacher gave me some tips, and next class will be better! I learned a lot!
