This act was supposed to help create an environment where there is no discrimination in pay and employment, however, it failed.

The Paycheck Fairness Act was introduced in 2009 and passed the House in 2021. It's a piece of legislation that aims to eliminate wage discrimination based on sex. It is designed to help close the gender wage gap in the U.S. It was passed by the House by 217-210 votes. The advantage of this act would be creating a level and fair field for men and women, closing the gender gap in equal pay, and helping women invest in retirement accounts. The disadvantage would be that it wouldn't address the wage disparities and more lawsuits in the workplace could occur.
- Angela Wang

The Equal Pay Act of 1963 was a legislation which aimed to end the gender pay gap. It was intended to require men and women to be equally paid for working with same skill and effort under similar working conditions. However, this act failed to solve the problem of gender pay gap as some employers found loopholes to pay less for women by giving different job titles for an equal work.
