I used the image of a tree farm because I believe it reflects how society depends on trees. Society depends on trees for lumber to help make many resources and to help us breathe oxygen as they take in our CO2. One of the biggest problems the environment has faced is deforestation, so to make up for the amount of trees being cut down people started tree farms. However, this did not make up for the damage it did to the environment since trees take years to grow back to what they were when cut down.
Image found here

I chose this video by the Amoeba Sisters on YouTube because they describe how photosynthesis works in a simpler format. Also, they used great imagery to explain the process of photosynthesis using their own doodles and characters which makes it easier for me to remember. Their explanation of chemical change is clear and less intimidating when drawn in symbols rather than in Lewis structure format.

As climate change continues, temperatures in climates/biomes that are not used to sudden changes will react poorly. The Tundra is the most at-risk because the increase in temperature seems to have the biggest effect. The rise in temperature assists in melting icebergs and killing off plant life that has not adapted to the warm temperature, thus starving animals and making them die or migrate elsewhere.
Image found here.

Unfortunately, these developments also meant wars and battles, trading new diseases, and problems with establishing a strong government with varying needs and issues within a small community.
Image found here.

In this video John Green explains how agriculture affected humanity over time ever since the prehistoric era. Green explains how the domestication of plants and animals and other resources affected certain areas of the world and how it affects us today. Some pros he listed were the mass-consumerism in largely populated areas can be fed. The cons were that the environment=ent and places like 3rd world countries may perish.
Video found here

Xanthine is probably one of the most influential plant-based chemicals in today's society. Xanthine is found in coffee, chocolate, asthma medicine, and headache medicine. In most countries, there are businesses where their top selling product is coffee or their whole establishment is based off of coffee (ex. local coffee shops and bakeries, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc.). Migraines are also one of the top temporary illnesses that trouble American adults due to stress, therefore headache/migraine relief medicines are sold the most among Americans.
Image found here

Although this image may be a little exaggerated, it is the exact idea of how many move makers - especially American - view the future. The image below is from the dystopian action movie "Mad Max: Fury Road" where in the only way to survive in the desert is to follow rule under 1 man and his distorted government's way of restricting resources and brainwashing nationalism into its citizens. The movie is a reflection on the government's lack of recent involvement in restricting companies from their waste production and health practices, which will continue climate change's drastic increase in temperature and make resources scarce. The dictator of the movie uses this brainwashing to not only control the people, but also to make the people feel at blame for their lack of resources, much like how corporations did (and continue to do) when they came up with the term "litterbug". If society does not call out nor recognize the problem of companies having too much power over our environment, this dystopian society may very well be our future.
Image found here
