This spring I've been battling migraines, anxiety, and depression. A couple weeks ago I had an accident and got a moderate concussion and muscle spasms. But with the spring here, (warmer, longer, lighter days) I can feel things starting to turn around. I feel like I'm starting to get my feet under me. I have been working with my physical therapist on getting back to the gym safely. I am also making a big effort to only buy the cleaner ingredients and food at the grocery stores. I'm still dealing with a lot of sugar cravings but I'm hoping time will help with that.

I am starting to feel more in control again. This past weekend I actually adopted a dog and I pick him up later this week. I have high hopes for this and think it will do my anxiety and depression well. Today, in an effort to make eating well easier, I cut up and prepped veggies for the week. This way I don't have to do much effort to get the reward. The sugar cravings are still big but I try to have fruit instead or one small chocolate. I've been reading a lot about diet culture how harmful it can actually be. The important goal for myself this week is to be kind but motivated.

A DOG!

Well a couple days ago I got a 2 year old dog from the humane society! Besides the extra love and laughs, taking him out for walks helps me get more steps in. The fresh air also helps me get refreshed and motivated. Besides the dog, I have been considerably more stressed. When I get super stressed I tend to put taking care of myself on the back burner. I lose my appetite and forget to eat. I tried to figure out better ways to cope with stress. My goal is to meal prep today and catch up on all of my chores like laundry and dishes. I hope this will make me feel better. My other goal is to get back to journaling. When reviewing the first two weeks of this class, I noticed my goals for this semester have completely changed. I wrote about and made a good schedule regarding getting back to exercising and enjoying it. Perhaps I should make a new goal and redo the assignment..

Between work, school, appointments, and meetings, I'm starting to feel more in control and like I'm thriving. However, this doesn't leave much time for socializing. I have been making it a priority though. With summer coming up I have much hope. I am also taking relief that this semester is almost over. I have been doing better with my goals of moving my body more along with time management. I have been going on more walks and even doing soft muscle training at home. I am really making an effort this week and my goal is for this to continue and not lose momentum. I CAN DO THIS
