I’d ask students to write their paragraph in Google Docs using voice typing. This reaches the Modification level in SAMR as it changes the task design. For ASSURE, I’d "Analyze Learners" by ensuring everyone is comfortable using the tech.

This falls under the Augmentation level of SAMR because the core task (note-taking) remains the same, but the technology improves functionality with features like sharing, commenting, and collaboration.

Using the "Utilize Media and Materials" step, I would choose an interactive simulation or video about photosynthesis (e.g., from PhET or YouTube) to visually support the lecture. This guides my redesign by ensuring the materials are engaging and appropriate for different learning styles.

Instead of just lecturing while students take notes on paper, the teacher can present the lesson using PowerPoint or Canva and include short quizzes using Kahoot or Quizizz to check understanding during the lesson. This moves the activity to the Augmentation level of the SAMR model because it uses technology to make the lesson more interactive and engaging. In the ASSURE model, the step Utilize Media and Materials helps the teacher plan which tools to use so students stay interested and actively involved in learning.

This will belong to Augmentation because technology replaces traditional note-taking yet it serves a more engaging and fun note taking for it includes images and videos.

ASSURE PART: Using the ASSURE model, we focused on Analyze Learners and Utilize Media and Materials to redesign the lesson on photosynthesis. Since our learners respond better to visuals and interaction, we replaced the plain lecture with an animated video and a collaborative digital activity using tools like Canva or Jamboard. This makes the lesson more engaging and accessible for different learning styles.
