Goal-Setting Conference
1. If you had to pick one or two goals/objectives for your students to achieve by the end of your lesson, what would they be?
2. Is there a particular area that you have been working to improve in that you would like me to focus on when I observe you?
3. Since you are a special area teacher, you meet with a variety of grade levels. How do you find that the goals you set for your students change from grade to grade? Do you build on prior knowledge of skills students should know from years prior? If so, how?

Pre-Observation Conference
1. What prior knowledge are your students expected to have in order to be successful with your lesson? Will you need to frontload any new vocabulary?
2. How does your lesson tie in with the Common Core State Standards? How do you plan on introducing this standard to your students at the beginning of your lesson, and then addressing it again in your lesson closure?
3. In what ways will you use formative and/or summative assessments to ensure that your students were successful with the intended learning?
4. Special Area Teacher - Which assessment techniques do you use with specific grade levels? Do you use certain ones consistently with particular grades, or do you find that they are universal?
5. Do you have opportunities for students to move/talk throughout the lesson?

Post-Observation Conference
1. Now that you have had time to reflect on how the lesson went, what area(s) are you most proud of? Why?
2. What parts of the lesson do you think could be improved for the future? Let's talk about how we could go about making these changes.
3. How do you know whether or not your students were successful with the intended learning? How will you use data to determine their progress?
4. How will you proceed now with the students who show full mastery of the concept, the students who show partial mastery of the concept, and the students who show no mastery of the concept?
5. Is there anything you need from me to feel better supported if you were going to teach this lesson again?
