His character traits are babyish and kind. Auggie is babyish because on page 270 Auggie said '' I started to cry,like big crying."(Palacio 270) August is also kind because on page 142 Jack said " He also let me copy his homework once although we both got in trouble for it..."(Palacio 142)  The character Julian Albans is a antagonist because he is mean and rude. He is mean because on page 30 Auggie said "... Julian cut in front of me, which actually made me stumble backwards"(Palacio 30) Julian is rude because on page 29 Julian said " Whats the deal with your face? I mean, were you in a fire or something?"(Palacio 29).
The characters in Wonder are very well done.  They seem like the kids you would find in any school. Auggie is one of kind but he also is a very real character.  This made the book very enjoyable.

Palacio the novel is written in first person. This is because all the characters use personal pronouns. This helped better my understanding because I felt like the character was talking to me. The use of the first person also made Auggie and the characters feel like they were my friends. Palacio, the theme of Wonder is acceptance is the key to friendship. This means that if people are accepting then they will be true friends. The theme relates to the novel because Jack and Summer accepted August. Julian however never accepted Auggie. In the end Jack, Summer, and August all made good friends while Julian was left behind. In conclusion the book is about accepting yourself and others.

Palacio, the novel has a very interesting plot line. In the exposition one of the main characters, August Pullman,  is introduced as  a 10 year old boy. However August has a rare cranial facial deformity, and is starting a new school, Beecher Prep. He has never gone to school before. During the rising action Auggie sees the school for the first time and meets Jack, Julian, and Charlotte. Jack become Auggie's friend.Then after he starts the school he meets Summer at lunch, and Summer is now his friend. After that jack accidentally bullies Auggie to fit in. Jack gets suspended for punching Julian, and gets suspended. When Jacks suspension end he goes on a grade trip while Julian stays back. The climax is when Auggie gets bullied in the woods by 7th graders, however Amoso, Miles, Henry, and Jack helped him. If Julian were there Auggie wouldn't be helped by Miles, Henry , and Amos.  During the falling action everyone becomes Auggie's friend and is nice to him.  The Denouement is when Auggie gets a medal for excellence in school and makes many friends.
The plot in Wonder is about a boy with a birth defect who because of his personality and acceptance of himself and others make friends in school.

The novel is about a 10 year old boy with a rare cranial facial disorder named August. He is going to regular school for the first time. It is a very realistic novel, but Auggie isn't different from any other new kid . Otherwise Wonder  was very good. August faces many challenges but survives fifth grade.
