The expansion of trade effected Europe by adding an entire new middle class to the social structure (which the nobles and the clergy did NOT like, they couldn´t control the middle class), created an entire new form of currency which banks were in charge of (bills, credits, coins), and a noticeable increase in population (due to agricultural surpluses). Trade also caused different kingdoms and countries to form alliances.
